Chapter 4:
**mazzi's point of view**
I woke up in my bed, still in my bikini, with jesses jacket around me.
I don't know how I got here, the last thing I remember I was in his arms.
I went to take a shower and get into another bikini, blue polka dots. I texted Vanessa if she wanted to come over to go in my pool today, but she didn't answer. Probably still at Jake's.
It was already 12:30 p.m. I got my towel, and went to the back door.
I sat in one of the two lawn chairs an put my sunglasses on. The sun was hot, and the clouds were very puffy.
Right then, I heard my phone ring. I picked it up, and saw Vanessa was calling me.
"Hello?"
"Hey Mazzi! I was wondering what you were doing."
"Just hanging by pool. You can come by if you want."
"Is Jesse over? I thought after last night you were-"
"No we're not." I quickly answered.
"Okay, okay." She said. I will be over soon. Love ya."
She hung up, and It got silent again. I put my sunglasses back on and waited for Vanessa.
**Jesse's point of view**
It was 1:00 when I woke up. I slumped myself down the stairs toward the kitchen.
I poured myself some water, and went to the sliding door.
Was it bad if I wanted to know where Mazzi was?
I stood by the door, when I heard Vanessa and Mazzi talking.
"Yeah, Jake's a really nice guy, we just both like each other. Why don't you and Jesse date? I mean not to rush you or anything."
"I don't know. I think it's too early. And I don't even think he likes me. I mean I don't know if I like him either."
I was so pissed off. It's like someone pinching you in the face many times.
I've never felt so hurt. So crushed. I stomped back up the stairs and went to my room. I got my guitar and started playing. My eyes were staring into Mazzi's room from the window. I shut my eyes, and tears fell down my cheek. I couldn't believe she did this to me. I closed the curtains, and sobbed.

"I think I'm falling in love with him."
We stood silent. Vanessa looking at me dropping her sunglasses from her face.
Then, we heard a slam, breaking the silence.
"What was that?" Vanessa asked, totally forgetting about the conversation.
"It sounded like Jesse." I said setting my sunglasses down and putting on my denim shorts and pink tank top.
I went up to jesse's door, Vanessa coming shortly after.
I knocked. Then I knocked again. I looked down and felt the key on my neck. I slowly put the key in the hole, and opened the door.
I heard the guitar squeaks, it was my favorite.
"I will wait for you at your house." Vanessa said awkwardly.
"Okay." I said walking towards the stairs.
I got to his room, and I heard the guitar stop. I put my hand up to knock, but decided not to when I heard his voice.
"Why did I even try with her. I knew this was going to happen. I really did fall for her. I can't believe she thinks that."
My jaw dropped when I heard that. I clenched my fist and ran down the stairs. I didn't bother closing the door. I left the key in the door, running for my room. I plopped on my bed.
What happened. I was crazy for him. I knew I wasn't good enough. I never was.
I heard a knock on the door. I was crying so much I couldn't talk.
I was angry.
Vanessa came in and sat next to me at the side of my bed.
"Things can be hard, but I see the way you look at him."
She patted my back.
"I will be right back" she winked at me as she went down the stairs.

20 minutes later I heard someone downstairs.
I decided to get my butt out of bed and slump down the stairs.
Vanessa had ice cream and The Notebook in her hand. It's like she knows me.
"How'd you know?" I asked. I manage to get that out before I started crying again.
"I'm a girl too, remember." She said as she popped the movie in.
She sat on the couch and patted the seat next to her. I lied down and grabbed a spoon and the chocolate ice cream, my favorite.

After the movie, it was 5:00 p.m. All of the ice cream was gone. I had no regrets. It did make me feel better.
She was flipping through the channels, and clicked in Pitch Perfect.
"Can up stop reading my mind!" I said as I went up to make popcorn.
It just started as I sat Dow with the bowl of popcorn. Before I knew it, my eyes were closing. A tear dropped from my eye as I closed it.
