Alice woke up in the Twoleg den.
"Alice, come play with me!" A two moon old Ace called. "Ella's being a grouch."
"Am not!" Ella protested, tackling Ace. Their mother, May, watched from nearby with amusement.
"Why am I here? We were battling, and...." The details were hazy, but she had been battling Ella for some reason... And Ace had been in trouble... But he was here in front of her, perfectly fine...
"Mom, I think Alice is going crazy." Ella said, currently curled up on top of a struggling Ace.
"I'm not crazy! You are! You tried to kill me!" With a yowl of fury, Alice tried to leap forward, but found she couldn't move. Her mother looked at her with pity, but made no move to stop Ella as she hopped off Ace and stalked forward.
"And now I can finish what I started, you piece of scum." Ella hissed. Her eyes darkened to black and she raised one paw, claws unsheathed, over Alice's neck. Alice didn't even have time to cry out before the claws slashed downwards.~~~
"No!" Alice jumped to her paws, screeching in fury as her head slammed against something hard and cold.
"Watch it!" An unfamiliar cat stuck her head in. She had cinnamon coloured fur with a white muzzle, and her copper eyes gleamed with fury.
"Move anymore and you'll never heal." She hissed. "You would already be dead if Stone hadn't taken pity on you." She pulled back and returned to her job of blocking the entrance of wherever Alice was, plunging her back into darkness.
"Where's Ella?" Alice asked. No response came.
"Can I have some water?" Only an angry hiss. It was obvious that Alice was trapped, for whatever reason.
She curled up on the uncomfortable ground and noticed the pain in her chest. Looking down, she could make out the dark blood on the ground and in her fur. The sight made her sick. Was the strange cat really telling the truth? Had Ella nearly killed her? More importantly, had she killed Ella?
She remembered throwing Ella off of her, but the searing pain had overtaken her senses in a moment, meaning she didn't know where Ella had landed. What if she had slammed into a wall and broken all her bones? Or bleed to death because of some horrible head injury.
She decided not to think about it, lest she go crazy of worry. All she could do was sit here, helpless, and wait.A/N- Short fill in chapter.
