Home Again

I felt over the smooth controls of the Escapade and wrapped my hands around around her ever-familiar joystick, "Rose, set a course, Unari Prime, sector 3, quadrant 4. Lendar, manage the engine room, and Ban, check private channel 1, Clark Enders might be moving cargo again."

I smiled, Captain's back and no prison gonna stop him know. Heh, showtime. I angled Escapade to the left and let her solar sail unfurl, "ready," I breathed into my earpiece.

        "Ready"

        "Ready"

        "Ready"

I pushed the solar sail's throttle all the way forward- "crack" my head flicked backwards at the force that should have killed me, instead I pushed my neck and head back in place, "crick." We steadied off at  lightspead to the tenth- cruising speed. I flicked on auto pilot and spun out of the piloting chair and walked out of the cockpit.

"While you were away we stocked up on weapons and ammunition. Now we've got every thing from ebbs to old fashion swords, " said Rose to me as the cockpit door slide silently closed behind me.

         "What are 'ebbs'?"

"Coolest new invention, they totally took out the bullet in "electric bullet." instead they just shoot a small bolt of electricity. It's extremely accurate," Lendar budded in.

"If the bolt's so small how does it do any damage?" I asked.

"That's why it's so new, scientists kept making gun that only gave you a static shock. But  one of them, Yanto werlkin, I think, made a small clip of very condensed energy that fuels the gun," replied Lendar, "The real science to it, though, is that the energy wants to escape so badly that when the trigger is pulled for even a brief second a high powered blast escapes. The blast is funneled down the barrel and at the target."

"Um . . . Okay, do you have any of those heat sabres. Used one to escape, fun things."

         "Yep, three," Rose replied.

"I'm gonna get some sleep, I forgot what a soft bed felt like, " I said giving my best dazed-person impression as I walk to my room.  I hit a green touch pad on the right side of the door to my room, just like five years ago.

Five years ago,  Clark Enders- curse Clark Enders,  when I get my hands on him he'll be floating in space- lifelessly .

I got to my bed and fell on it, my body would not be moving a muscles for the next hour.

"Disengaging solar sail, prepare for landing," I addressed my crew as I eased off the throttle of the solar sail. We slowed to 40 knots and began to entered the atmosphere; on impact with the atmosphere we sped to higher a speeds until I felt the gentle yet firm gravity. I land Escapade on a feild of bright green grass- the climate of this planet, Quarix, is mild in this region. I walked out onto the dewy grass and walked toward a large house on stilts, home. I climbed into my homestead and walked to my kitchen I got out some water and took a large gulp of it, "prep for a raid- I'm bored."
