Everyone in the room was staring at me as soon as my name was heard. The only thing that made them turn around was when the Scott guy moved to the middle of the arena. All the attention was back on me as I still haven't moved. Slam looked at me and I finally managed to push myself off the wall and walk forward. As soon as I got into position I heard one of the staff members shout 'Go!' and not even a second went by as Scott charged at me. That took me completely off guard and I barely managed to move away, almost loosing my footing as he crashed into the wall that was once behind me. He recovered extremely fast and it wasn't even a full 5 seconds before he came charging at me again. I kept dodging his attacks, hoping to wear him out until he had no energy left. By the looks of it, that wasn't happening any time soon.

"Ohm has to attack in the next 10 seconds or he's eliminated!"

I paid  no mind to the announcement until the speakers started counting down numbers.

5...

I dodged another one of Scott's attacks.

4...

He charged at me.

3...

I ducked bellow his fists.

2...

I spun around in a crouched position and swiped my leg under his feet.

1.

He was rolling on the ground, probably in pain with the force he his his head with. The staff started yet another countdown of 5 seconds, but before they could reach 1, Scott sprung up and held his head for a second, probably to make the dizziness go away. I could see everyone was clearly surprised that he didn't give up.  What slightly surprised me was that this time he wasn't doing his charge attacks. He seemed to realise they were useless. However, this time he chose the more cautious route. Taking swings and trying to fake me out. I know when someone tries to fake, since their whole body tilt to the other side while their fist is angled down. He almost got me when he went for me with his arm, but almost tripped me at the last second. I realised that the staff were gonna make another announcement soon about my 'passive approaches'.

I could see that I clearly took Scott by surprise when I lunged forward, doing extremely fast fakes. I confused him enough so he fell over his own feet. I turned my back to him to get my mind straight as well. That adrenaline didn't last long. As I was gathering my thoughts, I barely heard Scott scramble up and lounge at me. I side-stepped and took his arm, flinging him downwards. He ended up on the floor, but I didn't expect him to grab onto me. We were both on the floor, he was gasping for breath, while I was trying not to pass out from the fact that I think I cracked my head. I heard the faint countdown of staff, meaning Scott was up, waiting for me. I couldn't loose this. Without a second thought, I used my legs to jump off the floor. My vision was slightly blurry. I heard everyone gasp, but I could tell it was from something else, not the fact that I stood up.

I could see the look on Scott's face as he lowered his fists. I got out of my fighting stance as I felt something warm down my neck. I reached back and touched it. I brought my fingers back to my mask to see thick blood smeared on my fingers. I looked back up at Scott and slightly nodded at him. That was the Centre's sign for, keep duelling or fighting while in an arena. He gave a look that said 'are you sure?'

Before I could do anything else, a staff member walked down the isle and spoke.

"I'm afraid Scott is eliminated due to caused damage during the fight. He will no longer be joining you on-."

I cut the staff off by raising my hand. I looked in Aaron's general direction before he walked up to me. I leaned to him and whispered in his ear. I could barely see. My vision was slightly fading. Slam cleared his throat and turned to the member of staff.

"He doesn't take the elimination fair. After all it wasn't exactly Scott's fault. Ohm wants a re-match later, or if that's not possible, he wants to give up his place and take the elimination himself."

I could see the staff thinking about the offer. I felt like I was going to pass out, so I walked towards the front doors of the training hall. I heard the faint voice of the staff person announcing one of my requests as all of them looked in my general direction. I went through the doors and somehow managed to reach my shared room before passing out from blood loss.

I woke up to find myself laying on my back, with my mask off. I started panicking. But when I saw Slam reading a book in the corner, I relaxed. I felt a weird pressure on the top part of my head. I reached my hand up to feel the rough fabric of a bandage.

"Oh, you're awake. Don't worry, I bandaged you up."

I took my mask and put it back on.

"Thanks."

Just as I said that, I heard a loud knock on our door. I could sense both of us tensing. No one ever knocked on our door. Even the staff don't. Slam slowly stood up and walked over to the door. He opened it slightly.

"Hey... Guys..."

He opened the door slightly wider and I was met with a sight I would never have wanted to see in my entire life. It was Scott and apparently his friends.
