Castiel went back to the old motel room that smelled of old mildew and moss. It was not the most attractive room, that was a given, but it did not bother Castiel as he wasn't going to exactly need sleep.
Castiel sat on the bed that squeaked under his weight. He held the phone in his hand, staring at the screen, considering calling Dean.
The phone screen lit up and vibrated in Castiel's hand. "Dean calling" displayed on the screen. It was as though Dean knew what Castiel was thinking.
Castiel pressed the green answer button and brought it to his ear. "Dean-" he started.
"Oh it's a miracle, you actually picked up." Dean said, sarcasm obvious in his tone."Dean, listen please." Castiel started again, starting to get fed up with people interrupting him.
On the other side of the phone call, Dean was at Bobby's house. "Why should I listen to y-" Dean started. It was Castiel's turn to interrupt now.
"Because I have a reason Dean. You may not realise this, but I've been trying to help you." Castiel said, frustration evident in his voice. "I have been trying hard so you don't need to go through with this."
Dean rolled his eyes, they haven't seen Cas in over a month and now he thinks he's going to listen to him after abandoning them with the apocalypse to clean up?
"Cas, what the hell dude. If you were helping us, then why weren't you here with us trying to track down Sam - Lucifer." Dean said with just as much frustration as Castiel.
It pained Dean to correct himself that Sam was no longer 'Sam'. It was Lucifer using Sam's body as a meat suit.
Castiel huffed on the other end of the call, the bed squeaked from underneath him, reminding him of his surroundings. "I-I haven't had time to be there with you, there have been other issues arising with the Angels."
"What about the Angels? What are you talking about Cas?" Dean said getting out of his seat so he can grab a beer.
"Dean, it's fine, I'm dealing with it-"
"Really Cas? Is really everything fine?" Dean said, anger growing in his voice. Whilst Castiel wasn't there, Dean was waving his arms around from his frustration, also shaking the beer can in his hand. "I don't know if you've noticed Cas, but the world is slowly burning because of the Apocalypse and Sammy's missing!" Dean yelled into the phone.
"Dean, I am not thick headed. I know Sam is missing, I know the Apocalypse is happening and I also know that the angels who don't want the fight to happen are also trying to kill you and your brother." Castiel said losing his temper.
It wasn't often that Castiel got angry with Dean, so it really took Dean by surprise. He sighed and said calmly; "Look, can you please just come to Bobby's?"
Castiel sighed once again. He was growing tired of Dean's short fuse with him, but he could also understand why Dean had a short fuse. "Yes, of course. It would seem rude of me to not show up after such a heated argument."
Dean scoffed at Castiel's sarcasm. "Whatever, just hurry up." And with that, Dean hung up. He sat back in the chair he was originally sitting in and opened the can of beer. Dean must've forgotten that he had been waving his arms around as the beer spat out and erupted everywhere.
"Oh for fuc---""
