Diablo borrowers require a predator host in order for their powers to grow, but if they don't have a handle on using their abilities, then too much exposure to a storage stomach can cause unstable magic, making them even more dangerous than they already are. They don't require a parasite-like bond in order to just survive, only for their powers to manifest
And, Diablo borrowers have a stronger scent to them, attracting predators by giving them a vibe that arouses their instincts. Fortunately, Diablos have much more faster reflexes, and are almost as stealth as mage borrowers
