Sorrowful Disaster

It was one regular morning for the kind princess of Renais. The princess yawned and rubbed her blue eyes "ah what a wonderful morning" she said with a bright smile. The princess pulled the sheets aside as she stood from her bed and pulled down her night clothing. With no specific reason the young women couldn't stop smiling and felt quite giddy. She skipped barefooted to reach her brush. She began to hum a soft and gentle toon as she brushed her teal hair. Once her hair was all brushed she changed to her usual clothing and neatly fixed her room, she prefer to give the servants less work though many have told her that she shouldn't but she did anyways. The princess wanted to see her twin brother, prince Ephraim, however he'd went with some of the royal knights and she hasn't heard a word of him. The princess hugged her bracelet, "brother please be safe" she whispered before she left her chamber. The teal haired princess began to walk through the hallways but once she would turn to a corner she felt a tall body. The princess lifted her head to see the red haired knight of Renais. "Oh general Seth" she said slightly embarrassed "forgive me I-" before she could continue the general looked down to her "it is I who shall apologize your majesty" he said as he kneeled down in respect. The princess stepped back and gestured him to stand "no please there is no need for formalities" she said softly. The general obeyed and kept his usual serious face as he nodded. The princess smiled "general, you don't need to be serious all the time, how will you impress the women with such an emotionless face" the princess softly chuckled. The general didn't know what to reply he never thought of such casualties, "your highness...I do not understand." The princess chuckled once more "oh don't tell me someone as dash-" the princess paused and corrected herself "well... Other than being a knight you may have other interests like having a family perhaps." The general was surprised at the princess's words  but didn't showed it, "well your highness as a knight I can't afford such things. The princess turned her head and lowered her chin "you're saying that being a knight prevents you in having a personal life" the princess said softly. "I wouldn't say that, I chose this path" the knight said simply. The princess lifted her chin but before she could she heard foot steps. Behind them there was a Renais soldier, "your highness the king awaits you" the princess turned to see the soldier "I see I'll be there shortly." The soldier then lifted his head to the general "the king also wishes to see you along the princess" the general nodded "we will both be there at once" the general said as he gestured the man to go. The general looked at her and waved his hand "if you allow me princess I shall walk with you to your father." The general said. The princess nodded "like I said formalities are not required" the princess said as she walked to the throne room. Once both made it to the throne room, king Fado of Renais gestured both to stand before him. The general bowed "your majesty" the king gestured the general to rise "you don't have to be so formal" the king said softly. The princess smiled to her father, "what was the urgancy father?" The king turned to his beloved daughter "ah my sweet Eirika I am afraid that I have dire news" the king said sounding grim. The princess had a bad feeling, "what is it father? Is it about brother?" The princess asked not hiding her worry. The king nodded assuring that she was right "we have not yet heard word of him" the princess felt her chest heavy with worry "this can't be...he has three of the knights he will be fine I know it" the princess said trying to bring cheer to her voice. The king looked at his daughter but before he could say words of comfort a soldier stormed into the room. The king turned towards the soldier "what is the meaning of this" he asked calmly. The soldier breathed heavily "your ma...jesty... We are under attack" the soldier panted. "What?!" The king exclaimed "who will do such thing!?"
"Gra..Grado forces" the soldier said. "How could this be?!" The general shifted in a defensive position, meanwhile the princess couldn't believe this. "They...they are coming" the soldier said "oh no! Seth take Eirika away save her!" The king said more concerned of his daughter than of himself. "Father! We can't leave you!" The princess exclaimed. "Seth do what I say" the general nodded and brashly carried the princess and ran away towards the stables for his horse. "General!? We can't leave father!?"
"Forgive me" was all he said before he lifted the princess onto his horse and rode his horse with the princess in arms.
