The car stopped in the driveway. I looked and saw the light on through the windows. I guess this means my parents are home.
"Thanks for everything," I said, turning the top of my body towards him, making my position really uncomfortable.
"Anything for you."
I blushed. I lowered my head so he wouldn't see how hard I was smiling.
Ray reached his hand out and caressed my cheek. He slowly lifted my face and looked me in the eye.
We sat there for a few seconds, our eyes locked.
"I must get going," I said, snapping out of it.
"Uh, yeah."
I collected my things and opened the door. Slamming the door, I walked up the driveway and to my house.
Behind me, footsteps followed. I turned around and crashes into Ray.
"Oh, sorry! What are you doing?"
"Walking you to your home."
"Oh, there's no need for that," I said, nervously, afraid my father would see us.
I walked away and said, "See? I'm here."
"Alright," he said turning. "Hey, wait, Stacy?" He walked to where I was standing.
"Yes?" He was now inches from my mouth. My eyes left his eyes and led to his mouth. So kissable...
He did something I'd never think he'd do.
Wrapping his arms around my waist, I was pulled towards his body, my lips crashing onto his.
Wow.
Our lips moved in rhythm. The rhythm of love.
There was coughing behind us. We were both startled. When did my father get out of the house?
"Dad, I-I-"
"Save it, Stacy," he glared at me. "Get in the house. These are no times to get home."
"I'm sorry sir, it was my fault." Ty spoke up. Oh god, why?
"No one was speaking to you." My father said sternly. Then, he rush towards me, grabbed my arm and yanked me away from Ray. He was practically dragging me towards the door to our home. I turned and saw Ray standing there, in shock after the scene.
Our eyes met and I saw pity in his eyes.
My father pushed me through the door, making me land on the floor.
He turned and locked the door. He stood near the window until I heard a car speeding away.
"What were you doing with him?" He turned to face me, just as I was picking myself up. Both his hands grabbed me and pushed me back to the floor. I hit my elbow, leaving a weird sensation in my body.
"I had fainted and he took me to the hospital," I whispered.
"He should have just left your fat body lying on the floor." He pulled me up by my shoulders and was now inches from my face. His breath hit me hard. He reeked of alcohol.
His hand went up and then down on my cheek.
Then he threw me hard on the floor and kicked me.
He walked away without saying anything else and slammed the basement door. The basement was a mini bar, where he'd spent all night.
I got up, grabbed my things that had scattered on the floor and went up stairs to my room.
I passed my mothers room and heard a soft hum.
I should go tell her I'm here.
I knocked softly on her door and cracked it open. She looked up from the scarf she was knitting.
"Hey, mom. I'm home," I said, giving her a small smile.
"I heard shouts outside and I looked out the window. Who was that guy?" She said as I slowly walked towards her.
"Some guy from school. He took me to the hospital after I fainted today."
"Are you okay sweetie? You don't look so good."
"I'm just tired mom, I'm going to bed," I said. I leaned in and gave my mom a kiss on the cheek and headed out.
I opened the door to my room and turned on the lights.
The bright pink walls had 2 picture frames. One was a picture of my mother and I in the happy days.
Another was a picture of my brother and I, before he died.
I looked at the picture of him. He had two deep dimples and a toothy smile. His curly, dirty blonde hair hung loosely above his eye.
We were hugging each other. We were near the lake. Such a beautiful day, I didn't know it would be the last day I'd see him.
