"So, as I was saying, you really rocked it the other night at our party. Those moves literally captivated all the guys' attention. I'm not even lying right now." I laughed, despite her serious expression and tone. You would almost think she was jealous but Jessica would have nothing to be jealous about, with her perfect hair, looks, figure and love life. "Oh my, Elizabeth," she exaggerated, irritably raising her hot mug of mocha to sip it. I only persisted my uncontrollable laughter when she lowered it, revealing a comical, mocha mustache.
"Loving that tash. Wonder how long it will take for Andy to get used to it?" Raising my eyebrow, I watched amused how she frowned in confusion, and then finally came to the conclusion of what I was talking about.
"Oh no! I've not have I," she wailed, chuckling to herself after she licked some off. "And no, he would never come near me if I appeared to him with this," she emphasises, indicating towards where the beverage had still not wavered from atop her lips. Being the considerate person that I am, I used a napkin to disperse of it.
"Now, that's better."
Over the course of the past week, I've been in no additional unusual circumstances, and for that I felt tonnes better. Each afternoon, when we had lunch break, I'd meet up with Jess. She worked in the business building beside the Williams Trading Corp as a magazine journalist. I couldn't really get along with anyone within the vicinity, even the receptionist. For some reason, they seemed to walk like the world was on their shoulders or they looked as though they were lifeless, with their strangely pale complexions and impassive expressions. My only other option of befriending was our neighbour, which I'm glad she was or else I'd have nobody else to converse with and so forth. I don't see much of her boyfriend, Andrew, though I always see them together in the evening. Perhaps he works long hours during the day.
"So what are your plans for tonight?" I look up from my latte, focusing my attention back to my new friend.
Grinning inattentively, I realise how sad I am. "I've got none. None at all."
Jessica frowns at first, showing relative concern or pity, but it soon turns upside down, her face brightening with a cheerful guise. "That's of no worry. It's a good thing that a fair is on." If her smile could stretch any further, I think it would tear. "You can join me and Andy if you would like; he won't mind and he gets along with Tyler, so you can bring him along. What'd you think?"
I couldn't say no, could I. I had nothing else better to be doing with my life and I've always loved a fair since being a young girl. "Of course! It better have some good rides."
Obviously happy with the result, Jess bellowed a small whoop, which caught the attention from the customers sitting behind herself. I nod as an apology, internally groaning from their murderous faces; I only glared at the back of their heads once they turned around, uninterested. People seriously need to mind their own business.

It was several hours afterwards until we went to the fair. Again, I was feeling slight excitement but something felt a little off...not that I knew the reason why.
Departing myself from Andy's car, I inhale a lungful of the crisp, evening air, reminiscing the enlightening effect is has on me. At this moment, the world releases some of the pressure propelling down on my shoulders. I can almost eliminate the boisterous babble of the fair and the whooping of my friends. I can only smile; this should be some fun.
We walk chattering like children discussing the gifts which Santa has left for them on Christmas morning. I had only been two a couple fairs throughout my childhood, but they didn't compare a fragment to this. Lights all around me. Animatedly, countless people meander the expansive space, exuberantly rushing to the next best ride they set their eyes on. Candyfloss machines encircle me with the colours of the rainbow. The amusement rides continue giving people the experience of either exhilaration or nausea, booming dance music from the speakers and blinding me with the flashy, illuminating lights. My eyes dilate with the adrenaline coursing through my veins, decreasing my patience to get onto a ride.
