The laundry was near to empty when I finally found it after navigating my way through the corridors. I glanced up at the clock and groaned.
"You're late." Called a voice from behind a line of driers behind me. "Carter?" I recognised the voice instantly... Alex.
"My fucking luck right now." I groaned turning around to look at her.
"Maybe you should have accepted Nicky's offer to show you the way down." Alex smirked.
"Oh, my homophobic upbringing taught me better then to accept help from a gay." I replied sharply, my voice heavy with sarcasm.
"Spoken like a true dyke." Alex muttered, an eyebrow raised at my harsh, sarcastic manner. Sighing I ran a hand through my hair and looked down at my feet.
"I'm sorry, really rough day." I explained quietly.

"You can talk." Alex muttered as she dumped a pile of prison grunge down on the table. "Pennsatucky just started preaching about god's will, 'praise the lord'. Guards had to drag her ass out when she wouldn't shut up." I looked down to hide a small smile.
"Look at that, she can smile." Alex mumbled softly, I glanced up at her. My hair falling over my face, I bit my lip softly to control my nerves. Alex looked at me, her eyes had a softer look then that of earlier.

"Look... I'm sorry about earlier." I said, breaking the silence. Alex nodded slightly before looking down.
"I was a bitch." Alex admitted looking up at me.
"Yeah you were." I muttered flicking my hair back.
"So were you Carter–" She smirked.
"Taylor." I corrected.
"What?"
"My name is Taylor." A look of slight confusion crossed Alex's face but it cleared as she nodded.
"It's a nice name." She mumbled quietly as she turned around and looked up at one of the ceiling lights on the other side of the row of driers.

"That's the fucked one." She shrugged as she walking over and pushed the panel up to reveal the busted light. "You'll need ladders if you plan on reaching that light."
"Are you making fun of my height?" I asked crossing my arms in front of me.
"Well you are 5 foot 2." Alex smirked. "And it's really hot." She winked at me before walking off. I blew my breath out from between my lips, my gaze following Alex's figure.
"The tall girls are the hot ones." I muttered under my breath as I walked over to the utility closest to grab the ladder. Carrying it out I heard a new set of voices at the laundry drop off.

"Vause!" A voice shouted.
"Stewart." I rolled my eyes as I moved to under the busted light. Glancing across the line of driers I could see the top of Stewart's head.
"Here." She huffed throwing a bag of laundry onto the table.
"It'll be done by five tonight." Alex replied bluntly not even bothering to look up as she grabbed a bunch of tags. Stewart leant across the table so her face was directly in front of Alex as she ducked her head to grab a laundry bag. I moved around the driers so I stood behind the group.

"No, they'll be done in an hour." Stewart spat in Alex's face.
Alex's head slowly raised and her voice came out in an equally dangerous tone. "There's a line." I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in surprise at Alex's calm posture. Her eyes met mine and I understood her message loud and clear.

Stay the fuck out of this.

"We don't want trouble Vause." Killian, Stewart's right hand hissed.
"Over my dead body will I do shit for you." Alex replied, her tone completely calm.
"I'm sure I can arrange something." Stewart smirked.

"Hey Stewart." I hissed. The tall blonde wiped her head around to look at me.
"Carter." She smirked. "It's great to—"
"Get out of my fucking sight." I spat. Pushing her barbie blonde hair back she walked forward so she stood in front of me. Her 5'11" height made her tower over me but I didn't back down.
"You're forgetting your manners... Tay-Tay." Stewart smirked. "You act like you own this place yet you're just a new girl in orange."
"I suggest you piss off and find someone else to annoy the fuck out of." I stated bluntly.
"And why's that?"

"Because an anonymous figure tipped the Feds off about Tommy's hobbies." I explained emotionlessly. Stewart's expression became overcome in confusion.
"Her name was revealed." I continued. "So I suggest you get the fuck out of my sight before I ruin that perfect prison look you have spent the last three years perfecting."
"You really think you could take all four of us on?" She hissed.
"You've read my record. You answer that yourself." I felt a smirk growing on my lips.

"Go fuck yourself Carter." Stewart spat in my face before shoving me to the side with her shoulder and walking out. The second Stewart and her gang were out of earshot Alex whipped around to glare at me.

"I had that!" She hissed.
"Yeah it looked like you were about to drop down and pray for them." I shot back hotly.
"I get you have shit with Stewart that needs sorting out. But stay the fuck away from my problems." Alex hissed.
"I think the words you're looking for are thank and you." Alex glared at me as she lifted her glasses and placed them on the top of her head.

"Listen." She stalked towards me, hostility radiated off her. "You stay the fuck out of my shit!" She shoved me backwards and I took a few steps back to regain my balance but Alex kept moving towards me.
"You hear me Carter?!" She hissed. She shoved me again and my back hit the wall. I looked up at her.
"I was just trying to help." I spat.
"Help?!" Alex scoffed, her voice dripping in sarcasm. "You don't know the first thing about me."

Her eyes burned into mine, daring me to make my move. Without a second's hesitation I slammed my lips onto hers...
