Karen's (POV)"Are you sure your making the....---
"Right choice?" He replies cutting her off in a rush.
His words stung like a knife, cutting her with each word he spoke to her. They were no longer those loving, kind, cherishing words. They were coated with hatred, coldness, and betrayal. She wondered what she ever did to hurt him. Why he was leaving her, leaving them. His own daughter. But consequences were bound to happen soon enough. She knew by the way he spoke he'd return soon if not for her, but for his own daughter.
With a hand on the doorknob he spoke, "I'll be back for her you know. She won't remember me, but I'll just have to make her remember me even if it kills me."

"Yes...he's gone. Alright, I'm leaving you in charge of her. You know what to do right?" She asked twirling the phone cord around her bony fingers.
He mutters under his breath and replies, "of course, I'm sure they won't even notice I'm not they're father. Before you even know it they're real father will be back in no time." She shudders under the sound of his cheery voice.
(It sounded a bit off you might say, why am I showing you a flashback you might ask. Who is they're father? Yeah I'll get to that later. But ruby was only 24 months when this was happening. Scottie well he wasn't born until this guy came into the picture. Make sense? Alright back to the flashback. Xoxox: Jenny)
"Then it's settled, thanks brad." The line was cut with a long beep.
Karen grabbed a small blue duffle bag, and started to stuff it with belongings. She began with Brian's pocket watch. Ending with a small white box.

Gemma's (POV)
"Ugh my head..." I groan immobilized on Adam's guest bed.
Jackie sat on the edge of the bed glancing up once I muttered those words.
"Hey, your alright." She smiles.
Why is she here? Isn't she that cheerleader? Better act nice for Ruby.
I watched as she quickly runs her thumbs along the keyboard, then locking the screen. Jackie places the phone on the bed, and smiles getting up to grab me some water.
"I'm alright?" I ask following her every move.
She nods turning off the faucet. Trying to think about what happened she hands me the glass. I take a few sips as she speaks.
"Ha, yeah you went up with Cruz, he said he'd help. After that he left." She replied laughing.
Before I could answer the door swung open. Kelly, Adam, and Cruz ran in seemingly out of breath. Jackie nods grabbing her phone. I glanced over to Cruz who looked frantic. Kelly smiled weakly wearing gloves, so was Adam holding a trash bag.
"Guys?" I asked annoyed.
Cruz cleared his throat and begins to speak. Adam left the room.
"Uh how you feeling?" He asks sheepishly. I glare at him trying not to raise my voice since my head was pounding.
"Cruz...." I spat.
"Sorry...um yeah it's about ruby. It's my fault."
"Your fault?" Jackie asked raising her eyebrows as she crossed her arms.
Kelly plopped on the chair behind her unable to speak.
"Yes it was my fault! I didn't know she would spaz like that?! I'm sorry..."
"Cruz calm down. What happened?" Both Jackie and I spoke.
He fidgets nodding collecting his thoughts. Knowing how this was going down Jackie unlocked her phone putting it on speed dial.
"Okay, I threw beer at her...telling her to chug it. She freaked and ran away. I tried to run after her, but this pretty thing stopped me." I glared at him however my eyes were tearing up.
What is happening to me? She's not my best friend why should I be tearing up? Jackie smiled sympathically and glared at Cruz.
"I'm calling the cops, Kelly get Gem here dressed and downstairs in five; Cruz lets go." Jackie demands shutting the door behind us dragging Cruz.
Kelly nods heading towards the closet picking out clothes. I shrugged them away.
"Kels... Can't I just wear what I have on now?" She nods laughing.
I rolled out of bed, slumping over to Kelly. She pulls me into a quick hug and grabs my wrist.
"Let's go." After that we left heading to ruby's.
