I felt weary as Alex drove farther and farther away from town. I rested my tired head on his shoulder and let myself drift to sleep to flashing lights and the sound of whooshing cars and rain on the windshield.

"Lyz! Lyzzy! Hey, wake up!" I heard Alex whisper yell. I groaned and shoved his hand away from my shoulder. Eventually I yawn and stretch my arms.

it was warm, causing me to shed off my leather jacket, leaving me with Alex's white v-neck. the windows were down, warming my hair with bright sunshine. I look over and look at Alex's now blue and brown hair sweeping over his face. his dark aviators couldn't hide whatever excitement he had.

i smile and say good morning. He smiles widely and gestures on the McDonald's bag on the divider. i eat half a hash brown as he eats a burrito with coffee.

"you should really look out the window." he smirked. "trust me, your going to love this."

I brush the hair swept over my eyes and look outside.

Palm trees shot up to the sky from the white sand. Glamorous Brunettes cruised in their pastel colored bikes while we were in our not-so-glamorous black Wrangler. Blue waves crashed on the beach, carrying sandy blonde surfers.

"Alex, where the hell are we?" I asked.

He gave his world famous smirk and slowly turned down the radio. "We're at the place where all dreamers belong"

"Funny, this doesn't look like New York."

"Because it isn't silly. Look up ahead dummy" he said, nodding to the front

I rolled my eyes and looked ahead. Up ahead, a bright green and blue sign pulled up. And greeted us in bright white font.

Welcome to LA

I smiled. I couldn't believe it.

"how does Run Aways sound for our duet name?' he said. i breathed in the warm, salty air. i looked at the ocean as if it was a friend I haven't seen in forever.

" sounds about right Alex." I happily sighed.

Then he smiled and took a left turn towards the city.
