Mabel's dark secret

Dipper's POV

I was staring out the window of the bus as Mabel and I passed the familiar sights in Gravity Falls. It was the first time in eight years we were allowed to step foot in Gravity Falls. After the whole weirdmegedon fiasco, our parents had banned us from going. Both of us were devastated and our parents were mean to us especially Mabel.
"We're finally home." Mabel said.
I stayed silent but a small smile came across my lips. I looked down and over at Mabel to see a deep cut on her wrist. I raised her sleeve to reveal multiple scars and cuts.

"Mabel, what's this? Who did this to you?"
"I did it." She answered silently.
"What, Mabel why?"
"I was sad." She replied sheepishly.
" Mabel, why didn't you come and talk to me?"
" I didn't want to worry you."
" Really Mabel!
I grabbed her by the shoulders.
" You can tell me anything." I said softly.
I pulled her in for a hug, and she quietly cried into my shoulder.
" We don't have to worry about our parents anymore." I whispered into her ear.
We hugged for a good five minutes. I wiped the tears from her eyes and put my hand on her shoulder.
"It'll be okay."
" I know." She replied.
