My Secret Mate

Chapter 1

Ashley's P.O.V

"Happy birthday to youuuu---" I woke up to almost the whole pack in my room. I admit, I screamed a little. 

"Happy birthday dear Ashleeeeeyyyy--" Dangit. This is going to go on ALL DAY.

"Happy birthday to you!!!" I tossed the covers off and stood up while everyone clapped. I blew out the candles to the cake that they brought in. I heard my brother Caleb and his friends hollering and i turned to flip them off.

"For someone who is ganna find her mate, you sure seem grumpy" My eyes got wide at this, i forgot! When a werewolf turns 16, we find our mates. Not right away, but normally pretty quick. I try to talk to my wolf but i still can't talk to her. UGH. I hope my mate doesn't reject me and i hope he's not an asshole. I remember this one story my mom told me when i was little, it was about a male werewolf who blocked his female mate from knowing they were mates by not looking into her eyes. I hope i don't end up with someone like him. "So, excited?"

"What?" I looked at my brother, did i miss something?

"Are you okay? You seem out of it." I nodded my head. "Well dad said starting on Monday, (today is Friday) you are going to my school" OH MY GOD. My brother goes to a human school, Eagle high, and the only reason him and his friends go there is because my brother is next in line to be Alpha. As soon as he turns 17, he is 16 right now, he is almost a year older than me, but he hasn't found his mate yet. He stresses about it and sometimes tries to force being mates with someone. Without a mate, he can't become Alpha. "Does that sound good?"

"Ya. Are we going to be the only werewolves?" I was kinda nervous about going to a human school. The only school i have ever gone to was a training school and that was in our pack house. It was like a school but it also taught us how to shift easily and NOT loose our clothes. That was the tricky part.

"As far as I know." I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Later That Day

"Please!" Rachel (my best friend) was begging me to put on this white and blue dress. Of course, i refused. I don't care if it is my birthday! i will NOT wear a dress! "PLEASE!!"

"No. And that is my final answer. You already did my hair." It was true, normally i don't let anyone touch my hair or do my makeup, probably because all i do to my hair is brush is. I always keep it down and i never do my makeup. "Plus, i'm suppose to shift in front of the entire pack tonight. Getting all dolled-up isn't going to improve my wolf form." I am the alphas daughter, so only my brother, parents, Rachel, my brothers friends and a couple of the pack warriors know what my wolf looks like. It is going to be a big night. My wolf has one blue eye and one white eye. I don't know why my eye is white but i was born like that. I have white fur with grey streaks. All my paws are grey and so are my ears. 

"Ash everyone is ready!" Rachel ran up to me and hugged me. "Happy birthday." I hugged her back and thanked her as i got prepared to go out in front of the ENTIRE pack. Boy is this hard. I heard a few howls and people talking. I heard my father making a speech and as soon as i heard my name i jumped out onto the porch. It felt nice to feel the wind in my fur again, i shook out my fur and stared at everyone. People cheered and i ran to my father. I nudged him and thanked him. Everyone was on the grass, around half of them were in their wolf forms howling or making noise. I saw Rachel and Mason (her mate) making out in the back. I mind-linked her telling her to not swallow him, he is on patrol in the morning and i saw her nearly have a heart attack. I could see her blushing from all the way up here. 

"Hello everybody." I was back to human and i already missed my wolf. Why can't we shift back? I miss being wolf. PLEASE? We might even find our mate ;) My Wolf! When you are close to turning 16, your wolf goes away for a week, i don't know why but it feels like you are empty without your wolf. I haven't talked to her for a while and i hope she doesn't make a big deal about this. She tends to do that and it gets so f***ing annoying. "Thank you for coming and have a good time!" I remembered what Rachel told me to say, it was simple so i had no problem doing it. Ooooohhh i see Jake heading our way, maybe he is our mate! After all, we are a beautiful wolf! Jake is the soon to be beta. As soon as my brother is Alpha, Jake will be beta. He is hot, but i don't really want him as my mate. I can't choose my mate though, which sucks. I swear if i get  mated with Jake, i will reject him, i don't care what happens. He is a ASSHOLE. Oh please, you know you love him. JUST LOOK AT THOSE ABBS! And have you seen his wolf? Hottie. I want him all up in this. Oh fuck you wolf. I shut her out and looked at Jake. Oh thank god. He isn't my mate. 

"Seeing if your lucky enough to be my mate?" He stared into my eyes and i laughed.

"I was seeing if moon goddess was evil enough to have you as my mate." He smirked and shifted. "Come on, i wanna see your wolf."

"Didn't you already see it at the ceremony? Or were you too busy swapping spit with another one of your sluts?" He growled at me and shook his head no. I rolled my eyes. Who does he think he is? "Whatever. Bye" I walked away leaving him to go make out with some random chick. What a douche. I look around and try to find someone I know. I see one of Caleb's friends and i walk over to him. "Hey. Wheres Caleb?"

"I dunno. Oh ya, hey hottie." I raise my eyebrows and flick his forehead. "Wanna flick me somewhere more fun?" He looks at me like a perverted child molester and i kick his shin. I walk towards the house and walk inside. The first thing i see is Jake and this blonde chick with obviously fake tits. What a slut. I "accidentally" spill my drink all over him and run before he can catch me. 

"YOU LITTLE BITCH" I looked around knowing what my overprotective best friend would do. I try to find her but i can't. I start to get worried because without her, Jake is one of the strongest wolves and normally doesn't care what happens to another person. I start to run because now i'm getting freaked out. I feel something big jump on me and i collapse on the floor. I shifted quickly and realize that the wolf on me wasn't Jake... It was a black wolf with brownish green eyes, i hear someone shout and everyone is running around panicking. I face the wolf and i tackle him. He claws at my belly but i try to stand on his paws. If i know anything its how to fight. I feel the wolf shift and i climb off of... her?

"What the FUCK? Who are you?" I watched as someone pinned her against the wall. I looked at her and she didn't look familiar. "Caleb who is she..?" I noticed that Caleb was the one who pinned her and i heard a growl from the female.

"Mine." I saw him smirk and kiss her. Mates?!? "FUCK!" I laughed softly as i saw her kick his kneecap. He deserved it. Even if they are mates, he doesn't just kiss her. I looked at her face, she was actually really pretty. My brother better treat her right or a boy ganna get fucked up. I saw the girl run outside and Caleb chased after her. 

"Hey sorry, what just happened?" I turned and saw Rachel with a red face. 

"Oh my god Rache you look like a tomato!" She glared at me but as soon as she saw herself in the mirror she couldn't help but laugh. Pretty soon we were laughing like hyenas and people were staring, not in a bad way but in a way like, "I don't get it, its funny ya, but seriously...??" 

"Ashley..." I turned and saw my father, i smiled at him and hugged him. "It is getting late, you should get to bed. I need to deal with Caleb and all this... confusion." He was right, this was a very eventful day......

Monday Morning

"Ready? We are going to be late!" I quickly grabbed a pony tail and my bag and followed Caleb to the truck. I jumped in shotgun while Caleb's friend Tyson complained because he always sat in front. 

"So how is Skylar?" Skylar is his new mate. So far all i know is that he is trying to get her to stay at our pack house with us, but i don't know if she really wants to. She is a rouge and a really good fighter though. I only talked to her a couple times. She told me how at her old pack by rules when you found your mate he had to mark you so he could protect you and feel what you are feeling, that sounds horrible! She said she was afraid of Caleb marking her, but i don't think he would do that, i hope he doesn't..

"Good, but she still doesn't trust me." He pulls into the parking lot of a huge school and we get out. My first day....... Help.
