My head is down and only one thing is on my mind. Emily.
After Carlos got up from the floor he beat me to a bloody fucking pulp, I'm lucky he didnt actually kill me. Because he was pretty close to doing it, but I guess I deserved it. I did kill his sister. At least I think I did. Since we didn't find her body, Carlos still has hope that she's alive, a part of me wants to believethat she's still alive,
but I don't.Its been four days since she went missing.
Four days of me mentally torturing myself. Four days of this dead feeling inside of me. It's my fault she's gone. I tell myself. I haven't slept without waking up screaming for the past four days. I ended a life, I don't deserve to sleep."Uh, it's me, Emily." My body comes alive at the name along with the voice who announced it and my head snaps up.
Her back is facing me, and all I can make out is that she has platinum blonde hair, but I don't recognize her.
Mr. Berglans eyes widen at the stranger and says, "oh, yes of course. My apologies Ms. Gonzalez, but you're an hour late."
Gonzalez? That's not Emily.
Anger boils inside of me at the thought that Mr.Berglan would miststake her for Emily.
It clearly isnt. Emily-All thoughts stop as she turns around with wide light grey eyes. I narrow my eyes scrutinizing her. She looks at me, her eyes widening further and turns around murmuring something to the teacher and quickly walks out.
My heart stops.
I jump out of my seat and race after her."Mr. Blaine where do you think your going!?" The teacher calls out, but I ignore him.
I grab her wrist pulling her back and she gasps. She faces me, her confused grey eyes meeting mine and my breath leaves my body as I realize, that this is Emily.
She has the same light freckles that sprinkle across her nose. The same perfectly formed plumped pink lips and the faint scar just above her eyebrow."Emily?" I whisper.
Her brows furrow in confusion, "yeah?"
"W-What happened to you Friday? Your brother was so worried." I ask.
Does she remember what happened at all? And how is she not in a body cast?Maybe she didn't get hit by the car after all, maybe she moved out of the way just in time. But where was she for the past four days?"I-I need to go find Carlos," she mutters turning away.
"Wait E-"
"Emily." We both turn to see Ash down the hall, he has a huge grin plastered on his face as he makes his way towards us. He looks her up and down.
"New look," he nods, "I like," he winks.Emily rolls her eyes muttering under her breath and a twinge of jealousy sparks inside of me.
"Hey Ace, I see what Carlos did to you is finally healing." He says stopping by my side.
Emily's eyes widen as she looks at me, "my brother did that to you?" She asks looking horrified.
I rub the back of my neck debating whether to tell her the truth or not.
"Well-""Emily, I need to talk to you." Ash interrupts.
"I was talking to her." I mutter.
"Well now I am. Emily, we need to talk. Now." He says.
What the hell.Emily looks from me to Ash and shakes her head, "no, I need to find Carlos." She mumbles and starts walking off.
I grab her wrist again, "Wait Emily."
"No! Let me go. I need to find Carlos, I can't explain anything that's happened, okay? I need to figure it out and I-I just need Carlos."
"I can help with that," Ash smiles.
He brings his hands up making a makeshift gun with his hands and points it to Emily."Pow, pow" he says mimicking a gun.
What the fuck is he doing?
Emily's eyes widen and she pales, her breathing starts to quicken and she swallows, "I-It actually..."
Ash winks, "quick and painless," he murmurs.
Emily let's out a whimper before she turns and runs down the hallway at a speed that I didn't think a girl her size her could ever run. She's terrified, why?
I turn towards Ash to see an annoyed look on his face.
"She's such a scaredy cat," he mutters.I angrily shove him into the lockers, "what the hell did you do!? Can't you see she was scared."
Ash shoves me off, "dude, I was just messing with her jeez, calm down."
"I'm not gonna calm down! Can you stop being an asshole for just one minute? She was terrified."
Ash laughs bitterly, "you're one to talk. You're calling me an asshole? What do you call last week when you created that little show in the hallway? You embarrassed her, dude, you made her cry. So why don't you think about that and decide who the real asshole is." He shoves me aside as he walks past me.
I stay there a minute with my eyes closed. He's right. Why did she even save me? I'm such an asshole to her, I don't understand why she would risk her life to save the one that makes her life hell.
I need to talk to her, I need answers about what happened that night, why she saved me, how I ended up in my bed, who was in that damn car and why the hell is Emily blonde with light grey fucking eyes.
I rake my hand through my hair and sigh. I make my way down the hall in the same direction Emily just went.
Sorry Ace's chapters are short :/
