Turning the cold silver-slicked handle of my new bedroom door felt... WONDERFUL! Being able to restart my image in New York was going to be tough coming all the way from Iowa. But I knew deep down inside I could make the best of it. I am one of those 15 year old girls who think "I am a freshman I can definitely rule Korts high school." Which in fact I know I can. I'm skinny enough, pretty enough and I know that I laugh enough. I could totally damage that school from the inside out. Thinking all This I prance to the glossy French painted white French doors that led me to my extravagant balcony. My mom is stirring downstairs trying to get all the boxes inside. My mom Sundance is a single mom but she rocks at it. She is the head director at NASA. She does what every mom does but she also does what dads do which really helps my little brother Lysic out a lot. Now sometimes it sucks having a younger brother that can't eat with his mouth closed or keep his hands out of the drawer in the bathroom that holds your tampons.  But all in all for being 6 years old he is the best I could have asked for. Speaking of Lysic... "Amethyst. Amethyst. Your 4 boxes of clothes are on top of my bed and I really want to invite Ty over tonight." "How the hell do you already have a friend to invite over?!?!" "God ammy, he's our neighbor, he came over and greeted me. So hurry up and got grab your clothes. AND SHOES!!!" He shouted over the radio I started to blast from my room so that I could get a move on unpacking. I went downstairs and retrieved my boxes. As I was walking upstairs and I noticed the mirror by the couch and decided to check myself out before school started. I have bright blue eyes, glowing Puerto Rican skin and black hair that falls just beneath my waist. My abs are back and I'm ready to go. Just t minus two days till school starts. So tomorrow is dedicated to online shopping and face masks. Wednesday is for nails and preparing myself to be a hella amazing freshman. As my mom finishes putting my bed together I grab all my blankets because of how long a day it's been. I settle down in bed telling my mom to turn out the light before she leaves. "Love you Ammy." She said softly while walking out the door. "Love you too mom." I said as I slowly closed my eyes and fell into the oblivion of sleep.
