Chapter three

3

So free and dizzy,

All you do is stare at me,

My soul, My secrets

The night drew colder, cries grew louder, and he never came. I shouldn't have expected him too, but I couldn't help but hope. I drank more water then I normally would, thinking he'd be here. My eye lids grew tired, the pole digging into my spine, making sleep impossible, I haven't slept in days. The thought of laying in bed, covers hugging my body snugly, warmth exploding all my senses.

Adrian's point of view

"Is she here yet?" I asked starting to get frustrated. Josh looked at me apologetically.

"She's not here yet, she's putting up a fight!" Josh whispered.

I sighed, how long do I have to wait to get this girl into my hands, how long does it fucking take.

"Make sure I'm informed when she arrives!" I growled walking down the long stone corridor.

Melanie's point of view

Light finally flooded the room, Adrian stood outside the threshold with a bottle of water in his hand and a plate of bread. I never thought I'd be so happy to see him.

The water ran down my throat, my wrists finally free I started to eat my bread. Adrian sat opposite me but not in the shadows.

"Do you remember?" He asked.

Swallowing I looked at him puzzled.

"Remember what?" I asked.

He sighed shaking his head he faced the open door.

Many questions ran through my mind at the same time, one was will I ever get out of here, two will I ever see the sunlight and three why did I feel comfortable around Adrian. We both stayed silent for a long time. Finally he broke the silence.

"I've waited a long time for you" he said.

"What" I asked shocked, what does he mean by that.

"Six months ago I was told by my masters that I was to be expecting a new slave of some sort, you were very hard to get hold of, putting up a fight, you were very smart but not smart enough" Adrian seemed worlds away.

"What" I asked, not believing my own ears.

Adrian laughed.

"Every vampire has slaves, I'm very lucky to have three, you see your lucky to have me, I feed my girls, I make sure they're well, we all win then" he sounded smugly.

My face turned red, I was so angry, how dare he! My life has been ruined just because I have to look after some stupid vampire. Adrian kept staring at me studying my expression. I folded my arm across my chest and stayed quiet. Adrian had a huge smile on his face.

"Guess you want to stay here then!" He said winking.

"No" I said grumpily.

Adrian laughed.

"Well then stand up and we'll leave" He ordered grabbing hold of my shoulders and pulling me up. My knees felt like jelly my whole spine felt sore, how long had I been sitting here. One small step at a time we made out way across the stone corridors, all the doors locked and all the windows closed, I wonder where the other girls are.

We walked through more corridors these were different the stones was another colour darker maybe, they looked older. As we got further down the corridors, it started to get colder. I wrapped my arms around myself leaning on Adrian's side to keep up. We climbed two flights of stairs until we came to another corridor; this was different to any we'd been through already, there were paintings of royalty I presumed, they hung all around the corridor. There were only to doors in this corridor, one was wooden, large with a brass knocker, the other door was metal with the little window. We stopped outside the metal door, Adrian got out a key that hung around his neck and unlocked the door. Opening the door he stepped in pulling me along with him.

There were three very uncomfortable looking beds near the far fall, a large wardrobe stood on the other side, a little toilet and sink stood near the door. A small fridge and oven had been placed in the middle next to a small wooden table and four chairs. The walls were grey, and dull. What surprised me the most was the window looking out onto a lake, the sunlight shinning through the class made my heart skip a beat. It looked beautiful, I'll never take the sunlight for granted again. Adrian pulled me further into the room and opened a little door; the room contained four showerheads with shampoo and soap standing on a little ledge. Neatly folded towels were stacked underneath. Shower....Clean....I couldn't wait to jump in. Adrian pulled me out and walked me over to a bed.

"This is yours!" He said helping me sit down.

"Thanks" I answered looking around; this was a huge step up from where I was earlier.

Adrian walked over to the wardrobe and handed me a grey maids dress, I got to look inside the wardrobe, and all the clothes were the same, but all different sizes.

"I'll let you get settled then, the others will join you shortly" Adrian said walking away and closing the door. I heard the key turn in the lock.

Tears ran down my cheeks. I wanted to go home; I wanted my parents, and Danny. Standing up I walked over to the bathroom and turned on the faucet, cold water ran down like a stream. Undressing I stepped in, the water felt nice, grabbing the soap I washed myself. Rinsing my hair I stepped out and got dried. My clothes I had worn were ripped and looked really dirty, putting on the maids outfit I walked out the room and near the sink, placing my clothes in, and turning the faucet on, I soaked my clothes. There was nothing else to do so I laid on my bed and imagined being at home.
