Little love

Chapter one

The smell of fresh coffee filled the air. I stirred my soy chai latte slowly, as I closed my book shut. Out the window I could see little snow flakes falling softly to the ground. Thick white snow covered the little path ways, children ran about the streets throwing snow balls and Couples sat on benches sharing passionate kisses. I sighed and took another sip of my latte.

After I'd finished my hot drink, i said thank you to the waitress and quickly made my way out of the small cafe.

The air was cold and crisp. Even through my big fluffy blue sweater, the coolness of the weather could still reach my skin. As I walked along the little street, I could hear the sludge of my shoes sinking into the deep snow. The wind picked up almost blowing my white beanie off my head. I shivered in response to the sudden change of the weather, before mindlessly glancing at my silver watch. Shit. It was nearly eight thirty in the morning. If I didn't hurry up, I'd be late for my first day of school. Even thinking about school made me want to run and hide.

I quickly stuffed my little book back into my backpack. "This is a new start for you, Taylor. You will make new friends and get a good education at this school" my mother had told me before I left the cottage this morning. I don't believe her.

The walk to school took extra quick then I thought it would, and before I knew it I was standing at the front gate. I took deep breathes in and out. In-out-in-out. I took off my white beanie, then slowly strolled into the school office.

"Hello, how can I help you?" A small lady at the desk asked me as I walked through the door. It was rather stuffy in office and I felt the need to strip my sweater and scarf off. "Oh hi, I'm a new student at this schoool!" I replied after a minute of delay. The lady looked at me with disapproval. "And what may your name be?" she questioned in a robotic manner.

"Taylor. Taylor swift"

She did some typing on the computer, before printing off something and stuffing it in my hands. "Hears your timetable. Your first class is math which you will have in room C4". I took the sheet of paper and said thank you in response. I was about to leave the room when the most beautiful girl with bright green eyes and brown hair, stormed into the office. She wore a black leather jacket and light blue ripped jeans. Her skin was darkly tanned and her eyes sparkled as she stopped still in her tracks to look at my appearance.

I stood there awkwardly staring at her, my mouth a gape. I quickly looked back behind me at the small lady, who had began to speak. "Miss kloss, are you in trouble already?" She asked with discussed. The tall girl standing in front of me smirked.

"Of corse not, miss hundo. I simply came to see how you were doing" she replied with a smile.

Miss hundo scoffed. "Make yourself useful and show this young girl to her next class" she snickered and pointed at me. "It would be my pleasure to show this beautiful girl around" the girl answered, making my cheeks go red.

She opened up the office door for me and I stepped out in the cold air once more. We walked in silence for the first two minutes, neither one of us  knowing what to say. She was the one to break the silence. "So, what's your name?" The green eyed girl asked nervously. I could see her biking her bottom lip, as she waited for my response.

"Taylor, you?"

She smiled a big toothy grin at me.

"Karlie"

Karlie. Her name sounded so beautiful. I could already feel myself becoming attached to the tall brunette. After a few more twists and turns, she stopped in front of a small door with the letters 'c4' printed on the front. "Here it is..." Karlie announced.

"Well, thank you then...Karlie" I whispered.

"Welcome" she replied with a big smile.

"Well I'll see you around?" I asked a bit nervously.

"Of course"

She then gave me another one of her massive grins, before turning her head and skipping down the hall. Karlie. I repeated in my head. I like it.
