The sun shines through the canopy in little rays. I ran my fingers through my tangled hair.

"Jenna?" I heard my mother call. I turned around. My mother was a psychic. She stood at 5'8, she was thin, but we all were. Her hair was in a braid that cascaded down her spine. Her eyes were the only thing that gave away who she was. They were silver outlined in purple.

"Jenna, you can be out here. Not in the day." I frowned.

"Don't give me that look." We heard a noise like someone stepping on leaves. She turned her head and crouched. I did the same. I grabbed the knife in the sheath on my leg then slowly moved behind a tree. The leaves sounded again. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath.

I burst from behind the tree and tackled the figure. My knee dug into his back I grabbed him by his hair and put the knife at his throat.

"Who are  you?!" I yelled.

"That is for me to know. Let me go!" I scoffed and dug the knife into the skin of his throat. He screamed in pain.

"WHAT IS YOUR NAME?!" I yelled again.

"LUCAS!" He yelled back.

"What is your business here?" I slightly let the knife ease off his neck.

"Jenna." I heard my mother say. I looked back at her.

"Let the young man go."

"Mother."

"Let him go, now Jenna." She said sternly.  I sighed. I took the knife from his neck and put it back in the sheath. I let go of his hair and his head slammed into the dirt.

I smirked before I got off of him.

I stepped back and he stood up and rubbed his neck.

"I am human." He said. I rolled my eyes as my mother stepped toward him.

"Why are you here in the woods, young man? Do you know how dangerous it is? You could've been taken, killed, or something else by the Evoylti."

"I am human though." He said again. I narrowed my eyes at him. I saw his hand twitch. I walked up toput and punched him right in the mouth.

"JENNA." My mother shouted.

"MOTHER STOP! If he is human. He will prove it!" I uppercutted him in the jaw. He groaned as I grabbed his head and slammed it into my knee.

"FIGHT BACK." I screamed. He looked at me. His eyebrow and lip was busted. His nose seemed to be bleeding too.

"No." He said. That pissed me off. I kicked him in the side and he fell to the ground. I got on top of him and punched him in the face twice before he caught my fist. He rolled on top of me and pinned me to the ground.

"STOP." He said. I looked him in the eyes. He had light brown eyes. He was scowling before his face softened. "Are you done?" He asked.

"Not quite." I said and lifted my legs up far enough to get them over his head and rolled on top of him. He grabbed my wrists.

"I am not going to hit you!" He said. I looked at his eyes again. His left one started to gain a bluish bruise.

I leaned down and kissed him. His body immediately softened. His hands loosened on my wrists. Our lips moved together in sync. His were very warm. I opened my eyes and shot up. I just walked away.

My mother watched me as I mumbled, "He's human."

"Wait, what was that??" He said. I could hear him getting closer. Before he caught up to me I elbowed him in the nose. I heard his body fall and him groan. I smiled as I walked back to the path to the village.
