Chapter 3 (Saviour)

The guys came back from the sound check laughing at some ridiculous joke CC just told. Andy noticed Melanie standing there awkwardly and ran up to her for a hug.

"Aww, did you miss me?" Melanie asked with a grin on her face.

"You know it Princess," he said into her ear, sending goosebumps down her body. She shook it off, maybe she was just chilly.

"Princess? Are we giving each other nicknames or something?" Melanie laughed.

"Hell yeah! Now do me!" he exclaimed like an excited five year old.

"Okay, I'll go for the obvious one. How about Batman!"

"That's perfect," he smiled.

"Because after all, you did save me.... more than once," Melanie mumbled quietly to herself.

"What did you say?" Andy asked.

"Oh, nothing," Melanie said trying to put a convincing smile, but failing.

"Alright, well we're free for the next hour, so what do you want to do?" he asked.

Melanie shrugged. She didn't really care, as long as they avoided talking about her. She preffered to keep her secret for a little while longer. She didn't want them to find out about it until they got on the bus and were far enough away that they wouldn't kick her off the tour bus.

"I have an idea! How aobut we get to know you, since you are going to be on the tour bus with us," CC suggested.

"Okay, but first, is there some place to sit, 'cuz my legs are tired," Melanie said.

"Yeah, come on," Jake said, leading the way to a sepparate room.

The guys all sat down on the couches, but Melanie noticed that there was no place for her to sit. She smiled to herself before she went over to Ashley and sat on his lap.

"Alright, what do you guys want to know?" Melanie asked them. She wanted to get this over with as soon as possible.

"What's your favourite colour?" CC asked.

"Black or purple," she stated simply.

"Favourite food?" Jake asked.

"Pizza, duh! There is no food greater than pizza!" She laughed.

"Yes! I have a new pizza buddy!" Jake exclaimed.

"I thought I was your pizza buddy!" CC pouted.

"You were, but Melanie is way hotter than you," Jake said.

CC shut up and continued to pout.

"Do you play any istruments?" Jinxx questioned.

"Um, kinda. I can play a little guitar and pound out a few notes on a piano, but usually I just sing."

"That's cool! Maybe I could help you out a bit with the guitar sometime," Jinxx offered.

"Sure, that sounds like it would be fun," Melanie smiled to him.

"Favourite Movie?" Ashley asked while snaking his arms around her waist.

Melanie couldn't help but notice that Andy looked a bit upset by this gesture.

"Um, god this is a hard question. Any Harry Potter movie, RENT, Percy Jackson, or Sherlock Holmes. Shit, that was longer than I thought it would be," Melanie said.

"Very diverse taste in movies I see," Ashley laughed.

"How long have you been a fan of ours, and why?" Andy asked.

Shit. This was the sort of question she didn't want to be asked. But she didn't want to seem like a bitch for not answering. She decided that she should just be vague.

"I've been a fan since Set The World On Fire came out. I heard a song on Pandora that I loved and decided to look up some more of your music and I fell in love with it. The lyrics to your songs just spoke to me," Melanie said, finishing her story in a barely audible whisper.

"What song was it on Pandora?" Jake asked.

"Saviour," Melanie said quietly.

Jinxx must have sensed that this was a bit of a sore subject for Melanie, so he asked, "Why did you specifically love that song?"

Shit. Here goes nothing.

"I was on Pandora listening to my favourite station so that when I committed suicide I would have least died in a peaceful state of mind. I was cutting when 'Saviour' came on and it made me cry. It sounded almost as if the song was written for me. I dropped my razor and just cried," Melanie said through tears.

"Shh, it's alright. We're here for you Mel," Ashley whispered in her ear.

Melanie noticed that all of the guys were staring at her looking shocked.

"Wow," CC said breaking the silence, "Mel, do you need a hug?"

Melanie nodded her head and went up to get a hug from CC. The next thing she knew was that she was in the middle of a big group hug.

"Maybe we should bread up this hug. I wouldn't want your girlfriends to get upset with this," Melanie suggested.

"Sammi would understand," Jinxx said.

"So would Ella," Jake added.

"Me and CC are single, so we're fine. Besides you smell really nice," Ashley said.

Andy was the only one who broke away from the group hug. This made Melanie mentally frown.

"What's up man?" CC asked.

"Juliet and I are having a bit of a rough time lately and I don't want to give her any reason to break up with me," Andy said.

When Melanie heard this, she had such a mixture of emotions inside her. Happiness at the fact she may have a chance with him. Sadness because Andy wasn't happy. Guilt that she felt happy that Andy was having a rough time with someone he loved.

God why can't life ever be simple, she thought to herself.

The guys decided to go break up the group hug and go back to where they were sitting before. Which meant that she had no place to sit yet again.

"Mel, come sit your sexy ass on my lap. It's cold without you!" Ash whined.

Melanie laughed and sat down on Ash's lap. After a few seconds she felt something moving in Ashley's pants.

"Well someone's excited to see me!" she joked.

Thsi lead to a bunch of jokes about how horny Ashley was, and before she knew it the guys were being called to get ready for the show.

"You can watch from backstage," Andy told Melanie.

She just nodded and found a fold-out chair to sit on backstage. In about an hour the guys were ready and headed out on stage. They were greated by the roaring of the fans and insults by a few hecklers.

Melanie leaned back in her chair to enjoy the show.
