The boy, Ash, led me down a long hallway. At the end of the hallway there was some sort of door with a mechanical lock. "You need to let me go."

"Highly unlikely event."

"For a girl who spent her entire life in a cell, how do you know so much english?"

"Open the door." I demanded, adrenaline still coursing through my veins and my heart beating vigorously inside of my chest. My feet were still cold against the chilled concrete. "I'm not going to let you go, just tell me how to open the door and I'll do it."

"Retina scan."

"That's the eye, right?"

"Yes. I need to look into the tiny black box over there, it needs to scan my eye and then I need to type in a code." He said. I released my grip enough for him to walk to the black box and look inside it, then he typed a four digit pin number. "There." He said. And I walked him inside of the room.

Inside the room there were lines of clothes, shoes, hats, mirrors. It was like a giant closet. "Girl's section is over there." He said motioning his head towards the left side of the room. I pulled him back against the wall and found a belt. I secured the belt around his hands and onto the wall. I stepped back to look at my work and laughed to myself.

"They should've just brought me food." I said.

I walked over to where Ash had pointed and I found rows of shirts and pants and other clothes. I didn't have much time to pick out an outfit and design it. I found a black t-shirt and some jeans. They were ripped at the knees but that's all I could find that would fit me. I found some socks, mismatching of course and I also found some sneakers. They were white with laces going up to the ankles. On the side the logo had been smeared but I could make out the words Chuck Taylor, All Star. Good enough for me I said. I found a dressing room and quickly pulled on the clothes I had rummaged through to find. As I walked out of the dressing room I stopped because there was a mirror. I stood looking at my reflection. I had never seen myself before. I realized I had purple eyes. I didn't look at all like I had a radiation deficiency. I walked back past all of the clothes and everything and I walked up to Ash. I sat down in front of him. "What is a radiation deficiency?" I asked him.

"It's when your face is-" He stopped midsentence and looked at me, he seemed to be studying my face. "You- you - um." He said as he looked at me in the eyes. I motioned for him to continue. "You don't have a radiation deficiency." He said. Looking at me again. "You're fine. They lied. When you have an RD your ears are too big, or your nose is too big, or you have a lopsided chin. The only thing wrong with you is your--." He stopped a look of worry started to cover his face. I looked at him confused. "Untie me please." He said, he was trying to disguise his voice as calm but he was failing. "Please untie me. Please beast." I slapped his cheek, my hand pulled back stinging but it was worth it. I stood not speaking and started to walk away. I needed something else. I walked to the back and I found a sweatshirt, it had a logo on it but it was so faded I didn't care much. I pulled it on over my head, and found a rubber band. The band had been holding some ties together, but I didn't care that much. I dipped my head forward and knotted up all my hair onto my head, and tied it back with the rubber band. I took a long deep breath and looked back up the aisles of clothes. I searched through some boxes just sitting on the ground and I found what I needed. I pulled out a roll of duck tape and walked back to Ash, pulling a long strand and taping his mouth closed. Better. I said as I pulled from my pocket some charcoal pencils I had found, and I sat next to Ash and started drawing. I started drawing a map.
