*Daniella's POV*

21st December - 4 days till Christmas

"Dani, where are we going?" Abby, my 6-year-old sister, asks.

"You're going to meet Santa," I tell her.

"No way!" She breathes. "Are we really?"

"Yep. The real Santa," I reply and she starts bouncing up and down on the spot excitedly.

Abby stops all of a sudden. "Wait..."

"Yes?"

"But Santa's not supposed to be here now. He's supposed to be in the North Pole now, helping all the elves to make and wrap the presents for all the children who are on the nice list," She says earnestly.

"Um..." I stumble, struggling to think of an excuse. "Well, Santa thinks the elves are capable on their own so he left them to do the presents so he can come here and ask all the children what they want for Christmas," I explain. After saying that, I realise a tiny fault and hope she doesn't pick up on it.

"Wow! Santa really is magical!" She says and I breathe a small sigh of relief.

"Dani! Abby! Hurry up or we're gonna miss Santa!" Nick, my 12-year-old brother, shouts.

"You're gonna be on the naughty list, Abby!" Austin, Nick's twin, also shouts.

"No! I'll never be on the naughty list!" Abby screams back and starts running, tugging me along. We arrive at Santa's grotto breathless, courtesy of Abby, and join the end of the line. Mum, Nick and Austin join us after a period of time.

"Aren't you both a little too old to sit on Santa's lap?" I smirk at Nick and Austin.

"We're never too old to sit on his lap. And besides, we might never get to see Santa ever again," Austin replies.

"But you wouldn't understand. You're 18 so you're basically an adult which means that you're old," Nick adds.

"Hey!" I exclaim. "I'm not too old to sit on Santa's lap! Even though I'm 18, I'm still a child at heart."

"Go on then. I dare you to sit on Santa's lap," Nick says and he high fives Austin.

"What if I don't?" I ask.

"Then you have to drive us anywhere we want, whenever we want for the next three months," Austin replies and grins at me. If I back out, they're going to take the forfeit to their advantage. Waking me up at 5 am just to go to the shop round the corner. I shudder.

"Why should I? People are going to stare at me. They'll look at me weirdly and wonder why a grown girl is sitting on Santa's lap."

"Wait what's that sound?" Nick suddenly says, cupping his hand over his ear. "I think I hear something. Something like a chicken."

"Cluck, cluck, cluck!" Austin shouts and he starts walking around like a chicken and Nick copies him.

"Fine!" I hiss. "I'll sit on his lap. But when I do, you are giving me £20. Each."

"Damn it. Fine, we'll give you £20 each," Nick says and I smile in glee.

"What are you going to ask Santa, Dani?" Abby asks as she was watching the whole altercation between me and the twins.

"I don't know. I'll just probably say money or something."

"You think of such boring presents!"

"All right then cheeky monkey, what are you going ask Santa?" I ask her.

"I can't tell you. Only Santa is allowed to know."
