prologue (part one)

Georgia woke up with a terrible feeling that day: her stomach was completely upside down and she wasn't hungry at all. She got off the bed and walked to her dads room where they were peacefully sleeping.
Georgia tried to slip into the bed in the quietest way possible.
Once she settled on the left side of the bed Freddie, who was waken up by Georgia, turned himself in the bed and whispered:"Georgia it's five in the morning, why the hell are you awake?"
"Sorry dad. I guess I had a nightmare or something, but I honestly feel horrible."
Freddie put his arm around her shoulders so Georgia could put her head on his chest while he was petting her hair.
"Oh honey.. What happened? Did you had a fight with someone? Was it daevon? Or Andrea?" Asked Freddie worried.
"No, no. I didn't fight with anybody. I just feel like this today. Maybe it's just something passenger."
Said Georgia while she was starting to calm herself down.
"How much time have we got before school?"
Freddie looked at the clock next to his bed.
"We still have an hour and forty-five minutes of sleep. Do you still want to sleep?"
"Honestly I don't know. Let's go downstairs." Said Georgia.
"Fine. Shall we wake dad up?"
"No, let him sleep." Said she as the went downstairs and had a cup of tea together and when they finished, they sat on the couch and started chatting about Georgia's school and Freddie's current projects until Georgia fell asleep on his shoulder. After a while Freddie heard somebody coming down from the stairs:"what are you doing here? I woke up and i didn't see you, so I came downstairs." Said Jim as he reached the sofa and sat next to Freddie.

"she is worried about something ."  Said freddie seriously "but I don't know what."

"Does she know about that  thing?" said jim slightly worried.

" I don't know about that. I don't think so though, she would have told us." replied Freddie looking at Jim quite worried. "oh, don't look at me like that. Maybe she is just thinking at too many things at the same time." said Jim caressing Freddie's head. "maybe you're right." said him ."maybe i'm just worrying too much. I just hate to see her like this." "me too Freddie, me too." said Jim looking at Georgia as she was waking up. "Did I interrupt something guys?" said the young girl rubbing her eyes.

"not at all." Freddie and Jim replied concurrently. "by the way, you should really get ready for school or you'll be late." freddie added kissing her forehead. "sure, I'll be right back." then she ran upstairs leaving the two alone in the living room.

"we should be going too." said freddie. While Freddie, Jim and Joe were having breakfast together Georgia with her rucksack on her shoulders looking at her dad, ready to go. "come on Georgia, why are you so early?" Said Jim giggling "well, it's always better than being late." Georgia replied with a smile on her face,then she sat next to him kissing his cheek . "are you going to eat princess?" asked joe "actually, i'm not hungry; sorry uncle." Georgia looked at the clock:"dad are you done? we'll be late; daddy are you coming with us?" "oh yes,I am" said freddie "it's been a while since I've seen Dave." he said. a couple of minutes later  they were ready to leave and after greeting with her parents, Georgia went to school.

she walked into the classroom 19 as every day and took a seat. Pretty much everyone int the class were happy, and sunny. some of them were tuning up their instruments, some of them were heating up their voices for the lesson. what Georgia found very funny was that the teacher wasn't showing up. "does anyone know where the teavher is?" screamed Georgia to the entire class; "yes,where has Mr.Bowie gone?!" yelled another boy from the opposite side of the classroom and in that exact moment a women with short,blonde hair and grey eyes with a blue suit came into the room and everybody sat down and turned quiet. The woman looked around the room for a second, then she spoke:" Hello young linkers. my name is Grace Hill and i'm here to tell you that the underworld, the world of the living people has found out of your existance and a way to connect to this world by taking off your memories while you are in the underworld." Georgia, with those words, had her heart on her throat; and she wasn't the only one: everybody started looking very worried and were whispering to each other. The woman called Grace seemed  upset by all this noise:"silence! now the choice  will be all yours: you can chose to agree or disagree to this by giving us a little of your blood tomorrow morning and by appearing in the closer hospital as soon as possible. Rember that your memories will be made public resources."

PUBLIC RESOURCES?!

Georgia couldn't breath anymore. there was such pressure int he classroom that she couldn't pay attention to the next six hours. when it was time to come home Georgia couldn't say a word, not even when his father jim came to pick her up with a smile on his face. "hey honey, what's wrong?" she didn't answer and she remained in silence until they went home. once she got home she ran in her room, shut the door and laid on the bed while she was feeling the tears coming out of her eyes. she knew that the first people who would have seen her memories were his dad's closest friends, the other queen members and Mary. What would they think about her? How would they react to this? To all this? georgia fell asleep while overhearing the voice of her parents arguing softly....

"Georgia,tresure, wake up!" She slowly opened her eyes and the first thing she saw was Freddie sitting next to her. "you were crying, honey. Is there something wrong?" he looked terribly worried. Georgia sat on the bed while looking down. "I.....have something to tell you..." she said while tears streaming down her face. Freddie was so sad by seeing her crying. Jim came to her room and sat next to her while caressing her head; looking sad too.

"what is going on?" they asked her and she began to torture her thumbs while biting her lip.

" uhm..today at school they told us that I don't know who, maybe scientists, found a thing that can..uhm...like.."

"They can see what is going on in the infraworld thourgh your memory." Freddie cut her off,slightly grinning. "we know that, but we didn't tell you because we wanted you to choose what to do." Added jim  "after all" freddie said  "those are your memories, but we're happy that you told us spontaneously." Georgia was quite happy to hear that. "me and dad had talked about it for a long time and we concluded that it is totally ok for us if you decide to show your memories." said Jim "we will support you whatever you want to do."

" I... I don't know. i'm not sure that Mary and the others will understand." said Gerogia, tearing up a little bit.

"oh, i'm absolutely sure they will understand the situation and they will include that it is not your fault if you're a linker. You were born this way" said Freddie "and we're so thankful for this." he added while petting her hair.

Georgia burst into tears once again:"how do you know that?!" Jim and Freddie looked into eachother's eyes, then hugged her. "Georgia, I know that because I know them well. Everything is going to be fine. I promise you." They cuddled for a very long time until she finally fell asleep as she felt safe, but still waiting for the day when she would have showed the world the truth; starting from the first day she saw him.......
