Chapter 2:

Carlos had left me to my shopping with a simple goodbye and how it was great meeting me. I walked through the store in a daze. I grabbed Mary some organic toddler food and many other groceries. I finally got to the checkout when there was a huge line and there was only one cashier. Oddly enough the tall blonde guy and Carlos were the ones in front of me.

"Tasha? Hey!" Carlos said from standing in front of my cart. I smiled and greeted him. "This is my friend Kendall." He said. The tall blonde guy smiled and waved, I did the same.

"Nice to meet you." I nodded to Kendall.

"So where are you from?" Carlos asked.

"I'm from Cali, you?" I asked him. "I'm from Florida originally, but moved out here to pursue my career." Carlos smiled at me pushing his cart subtlety back and forth nervously.

"Really? And what is it you wanted to do?" I asked him.

"Well I'm an actor and I have a music group." He told me acting as if he was nervous. I knew he had to be famous.

"An actor? Wow... And you sing? That's awesome." I smiled at him. I didn't want to tell him what I did, it so wasn't glamorous at all, and I barely survived with Dani and I both working to pay for the house. Dani and I worked at a themed restaurant as waitresses. We would perform and sing but only as back up in the crowd when we served customers. You could say it was a burlesque type place, but it had a stricter more modest dress code. It wasn't something to be proud of, but it paid the bills and it didn't require labor work or hanging out with men whom wanted more from me than just their food.

"Yeah! You should come hang out with me, Kendall and our band members sometime it'd be fun. One of the guys is going to pop the question to his girlfriend pretty soon." Carlos smiled. I laughed and nodded. I couldn't believe he and I were getting along so well, AND he wanted to hang out sometime.

"Aw how sweet and he tells you about his relationship?" I asked, not really caring about subject of the matter, but just wanted to keep the conversation going.

"Of course! And well she's my best friend." He smiled. 'She'... His best friend was a girl. I was finding out so much about him.
