Frisk shot up from their bed, hands shaking and sweeting. That same dream again. They had lost track of how many times they had had it, but they new that they started happening the night that monsters had finally gone free. The first time they had it, they had to stop them self from crying to loud and waking up their new mom and dad, Toriel and Asgore. Now, they had had it so many times that they had gotten to the point where they were afraid of sleeping.
Frisk looked around, not knowing for a moment where they were, then they remembered, they had wanted to stay the night at Sans' and Papyrus' house. They thought that maybe a different place to sleep would ease their nightmares. But it seemed that not even sleeping with Sans had helped them.
That's when they noticed the missing skeleton.
'Where did he go?' Thought Frisk. They had fallen asleep right next to him on his bed. Frisk couldn't shake the paranoid feeling that something had happened. They just couldn't get the dream out of their head. The monsters they had killed, the blood that was shed, the look on their faces.
Frisk wanted to just curl up and cry again until morning, but their will to find their skeleton friend filled them with determination. So, after catching their breath and calming down, they pulled off the sheets, walked to the door, and went on their quest.
Frisk didn't have to go far though, after opening the door, they spotted their friend sitting on the couch. Sans seemed troubled, he was heavily breathing, wrapped up in a blanket and clutching his knees.
Frisk ascended down the stairs to their friend.
"Sans?" Frisk called out when they reached the bottom. Sans gasped suddenly, but then quickly recovered.
"Hey kid," he chuckled nervously. "You scared me."
Frisk didn't like the look on Sans' face, it seemed like he was forcing a smile.
"Are you alright Sans?" Frisk asked, concern in their voice. "I woke up and you were gone, did something happen?"
"No kid, it's okay," Sans said, though not very convincing. "I just, uh, had a bad dream, I didn't want to wake you."
Frisk eyes opened wide. They had a pretty good feeling that they knew what his dream was about.
"Frisk, are you alright?" Sans asked. Frisk shook their head no, then walked over to Sans and sat down next to him.
"I had the same dream." They said.
"What?" Sans asked. "How would you even know? I didn't even tell you what it was about."
"You don't have to, I think we've both seen enough of that horrible nightmare." Frisk sighed and scotched closer to Sans.
"It's the same thing every time. I'm there, I kill everyone, you try to stop me, you fail." The human child was now leaning against Sans, not wanting to look at their friend.
"I'm sorry Sans, sorry that I have to reminded you of that dream."
For once in his life, Sans was at a loss for words. He sat their dumbfounded, trying to find the right thing to say. Then, he finally spoke.
"I guess it's the same dream after all." He sighed, putting his arm around Frisk. "But I don't blame you for it for a second kid, you got it? Your the best thing that's happened to us, all of us, no dream could ever make me feel otherwise."
His smile was back on his face as he looked down at Frisk. Frisk was able to smile for a second, staring up at his skeleton buddy, but their smile soon left them.
"I just don't want you to have to see me like that. I want to be your *puny* friend, who makes you not feel *bonely* anymore." Frisk said, their smile returning a little bit.
Sans laughed softly, "Me too little pal."
But his smile and laugh seemed different, not his usual cheesy grin and chuckle after he had just heard a great joke.
Sans sighed and pulled Frisk a little closer.
Frisk wanted more than anything to be able to help their friend and return the smile to his face. Frisk shifted their arm a little bit on Sans' stomach, and Sans suddenly jumped.
"I'm sorry Sans!" Frisk exclaimed. "I didn't mean to scare you!"
"No! No, it's not that, you didn't scare me!" Sans said nervously.
"Then why did you jump like that? I didn't hurt you did I?"
"No, it's okay Frisk, you didn't hurt me."
Frisk's look of confusion soon turned into one of mischief. They experimentally poked Sans in his ghost belly, as Frisk called it.
Sans jumped again and chuckled nervously, his real chuckle.
"Come on kid, quit that."
Frisk suddenly had an idea of how they could get their friend laughing again. Frisk suddenly jumped onto Sans and began wiggling their fingers above him.
"Nohohoho, Frisk, wahahahait!" Sans pleaded, giggling helplessly. 'Wow!' Thought Frisk with a smile on their face. 'I haven't even started tickling him yet and he's already laughing his head off. How is he going to react when I actually tickle him?' Frisk couldn't wait to find out. Suddenly their hands started spidering all over Sans. From his under arms, to his literal ribs, his ghost belly and back up again. The results were even more than Frisk had expected.
"AHAHAH FRISK! Nohohohoh, not this!" His giggles soon turned into howls of laughter. Frisk could feel his belly shaking as he sat on top of him, tickling away at his helpless friend.
Suddenly, Sans let out a very uncharacteristic squeal. "NO! NOT THERE! AHAHAHAH." Frisk couldn't help but tease the uncontrollably laughing skeleton.
"Where Sans? You mean right hear?" They said as they started vibrating their fingers above where the skeletons bellybutton would be, if he had one.
Sans was soon snorting he was laughing so hard. "FRISK, PLEASE!" He begged. Frisk decided that even skeletons needed to breath a little bit, so they momentarily stopped to let him quickly catch his breath. He was still giggling at the tickley sensation that he could still feel.
"Wow, I never realized how *SANSitive* you are." Frisk giggled.
"Ha, I've, *pant* taught you, *pant* too well." Sans said, still unable to fully catch his breath.
"Hey Sans, what's a tickle monsters favorite fruit?" Frisk said with a mischievous grin. After a moment, Frisk answers the question. "Raspberries."
The look on Sans' face said exactly what he was thinking. 'Oh no.'
Suddenly, Frisk leaned their mouth against Sans' ghost belly and gave a giant blow. Frisk had hopped that he would still feel the raspberry, even though it was on his shirt, because, of course, he doesn't have a physical belly. But that didn't seem to matter at all, Sans threw his head back with laughter at the vibrating sensation.
"AH! FRIHIHISK, STOHOHOHP! heheeheeh!" Sans was once again uncontrollably laughing, and Frisk couldn't imagine a better sound.
Little did they know that all the laughing had woken up the third member at the house.
"WELL WELL WELL." came the voice of the great Papyrus. "WHAT DID I MISS OUT ON?"
Suddenly, both Sans and Frisk were held in the arms of Papyrus, who was having no trouble tickling them both at the same time. Now Frisk was too laughing as hard and uncontrollably as Sans. Soon, an all out tickle war broke out. Sometimes Sans and Frisk would get the upper hand and start tickling Papyrus, a few times Papyrus and Sans double teamed Frisk so Sans could get a little bit of revenge, but most of the time it was every man for themselves, with everyone tickling whoever they could find. It seemed to go on for hours, but soon the three had grown tired and called a truce. The three soon fell asleep on the couch, and for the first time in as long as they could remember, nether Frisk nor Sans had the nightmare. Now Frisk knew that whenever they had that dream again, they could go over to Uncle Sans, and Sans knew that he could always go to his little pun bud for comfort, and they could both sleep happily knowing that they had brought the smiles back to each others faces.
