Year 3013

Year 3013~ Chapter 1

Hello. I'm Elva. Im just trying this out becuase I've been told I'm a good writer so i want to see if its true. This is my first story so please be kind. I'm sorry if its not that good :S This story was originally a writing assginment for class but i thought it was good sooooooo....here it is. Of course I made some changes to it so it could be longer. I hope you enjoy ^_^

It was the same dream I've since i could remember. It was mostly just little blurbs of what was. Like my first interaction with the Kajuo or losing my family. most of the bad stuff i guess.

It had ready been maybe 25 years or so since the first attack so we were just one of many pockets of survivor's.

Other images flashed though my mind. The image that showed up the most was me and Adande. It wasn't anything special we where just sitting on a bunker talking and he was holding my hand. I don't even remember the last time i could do that with him. Honestly i wasn't even sure if the memory was real.

I guess the memory was to much for me because moments later i woke up shaking and my pillow and mattress was drenched in sweat. I glanced at my clock 2:56 am. I figured since i wasn't going to go back to sleep I might as well get ready. I stood up nearly stepping on Drago's tale. I forgot he was even there. Drago was stray dog we had found while traveling avoiding the Kajuo. I don't know why anyone would leave him behind. He was a beautiful Siberian husky with piercing blue-green eyes.

I tip-toed slowly put the creaking of the old floors didn't help.Passing my my fathers mattress I heard low mumbles followed by twitches every couple of seconds. I stared for a while then moved on. I as used to it by now.

Gently I shut the door and looked ahead. The smell of chemical mixtures with scrap metal and a hint of smoke hit me. The same smell I've woken up to for years now. I tried not to let it consume me but sometime it gets to me and I just want to breakdown and cry for hours. But just would suck it up and move on.

I started down the narrow hallway and in to the woman's washroom. I though it was a nice place. It's weird but it reminds me of the way things used to be. It ad ivory colored wallpaper with lace fringe at the top of the wall paper. There where some dressers lining of the walls. On one of the walls there was a long marble sink. On the far side of the bathroom there where four stalls and opposite the stalls are four showers. It was beautiful, almost like it didn't belong here. In this war. It was out of place but it was ok. With everything going on its what everyone needed. Something old fashion.

I grabbed my key from one of the loose titles under the sink and unlocked my dresser and grabbed my towel and soap and took a quick shower. I dried myself quickly before anyone else walked i. It made me uncomfortable when I would shower and other people where in the bathroom. I laced up my boot and brushed my eat left the bathroom.

I made my way to the lab trying not to wake anyone. The lab was where my father and the rest of the scientist most of there time. It was the main and biggest part to the house. The computer where powered by generators. The room had a huge chalkboard by one wall and had one big tables in the middle of the floor with chairs around it and a huge mess of papers on it. Smaller work benches lined the rest of the room. I walked to the far side of the room by the computers and there was a small blue locker with a combination lock on it. I unlocked it there was all my hand guns even a bow and arrow to hunt.

My father was never ok with the idea of me having a weapon but he had to be realistic about it. He knew it was safer for me to have something than nothing. I strapped a hand gun to my hip and shut the locker.

I made my way to the elevator and passing Adande's room and realized he wasn't there. I sighted knowing that I should of expected that. I quickly shook the thought out of my head and moved on.

I got into the elevator waited to go up. When I got out of the elevator i had to push pass the bushes and leaves we put there so no one could discover where we where. The lab was underground in a mountain. None of the Kajuo ever come here so this is where we all settled.

As I got out from the bushes I looked at the dark sky above me and realized one of the good things about living here. The view was one of the most beautiful this you'll ever see. You could see everything from up here even though it was still dark the lights from the city below where beautiful. Almost as if things where normal. As if the world below us wasn't infested with Kajuo.

Out of the darkness I saw a figure kneeling on the edge of the mountain. I walked up to the the figure "Adande what are you do up so early?'

"I was going to ask the same thing Camillus. You know why I'm here"

"I know," I sighed "Common...lets go take a walk. I think you need it just as much as I do"

Adande nodded but hesitated to get up. After a bit he slowly got up and turned around. When he did I screamed!!!
