Monster No More

Chapter 1

Chapter 1:

"Marry me?" he asked me kneeling and holding up a big engagement diamond ring in front of me.

I chewed my lip. I honestly couldn't reply. My throat  was burning with thirst. And I knew that the burning in my throat can not be contained by water, soda, or anything but what is pumping inside the man that is kneeling in front of me and that is not inside of me. And if I took one tiny breathe, I would kill my love of my life.

Unfortunately, when I still didn't answered he took my silence as a 'no'. He stood up, now once again taller than me, and looked at me with his sad chocolate eyes. 

"Please, just answer me, Holly. Whether it's a yes or a no. Please," he plead.

Oh no, Jake. Please, don't make me answer...

He grabbed my hands from my sides and placed them over his heart. "Please, Holly."

This boy is certainly not making it easy for me. I felt his heart beat under his shirt. Bum-bump, bum-bump. It was going quite fast really. 

I looked back up at him than at his neck.

"Jake...," I whispered threw my lips. Already I felt the transformation. My eyes glowing red and my fangs popping out. Shock and horror appeared in his face, which was followed by disgust.  Seeing his face like that hurt me. But I'm too hungry to care right now.

Like a flash I was behind him. "I'm sorry..." I whispered in his ear and that is the last words he'll ever heard before I snapped his neck, killing him, and drank him dry.

Like always I woke up screaming. His disgusted, angered face haunts my every dream like tonight.

I still can't stand it. 

I raised my hands up to my face knowing that they kill before and have held blood before. My very existence is a mystery to science and myself. But I still can't find a way to kill my kind. Vampires. The very word scares me.

I am Holly Woods and I am a vampire. And as far as I know, I am the only vampire. A born vampire. I am currently 16 (or so that appears on the outside). I am truly 104 years old. And I am a monster.
