The second week of school started off pretty good. On Tuesday my class was at the library working on an English project when Max came in with a new kid. He was actually quite cute. Quickly pulling out my laptop I skyped Tiana.

Omg! Max is showing around a new kid. And he is kinda CUTE.

Lol! What colour hair?

Ice blond, I dont know what year he is in tho

Awesome. our year I think

I hope Max brings him to the canteen at recess, I want to meet him.

Same.

Then we had recess. I finally got to meet the ne kid. His name was Niall and he had a really cool accent. Sometimes he asked you to repeat what you were saying which gave me the impression that he was from a different country and was just learning English.

Niall is German which is like awesome

OMG, that's so cool

Then we had lunch. Most of my friends {okay that's a lie} were in the library working on their English presentation so I spent most of the lunch standing outside the library with Niall and Sarah. The bad thing was Sarahs dad is German so she can speak it and Niall was having conversations with her in German and I was like "What?" "what are you saying?" "whats going on?". But I did get to know Niall better. Like he has a sister, he is only in Australia for a term and he came to improve his English. I also found out that he thinks im short, when I totally am not!

When I got home I found I had gotten a message from T.

<3<3

No, just no

He does seem nice, but that from talking to him once

Then I thought of something. #BrainWave. I'll ask Max what he thought of Niall.

What did you think of Niall?

Not sure

Not Sure?

Not sure what to think of him

Oh right

I think he is nice and cool

Yeah

Well Max doesn't sound so enthused about Niall, I thought, I wonder why. I thought he was nice. I know other people don't have the same opinions as me but Max didn't even have an opinion. I sorta imagined that if we were having this as an actual conversation he would say in a monotone voice "meh". I have no idea why I thought this but I did. I must have a strange strange mind.

The next day T and I had some more conversations.

I cant believe Kirk called Niall Olaf, he doesn't look like a snowman!

Hmm he has almost white hair

Meh, I sorta feel sorry for Max now

Why?

cause he wants to know what we are talking about

Like that you think he is a little cute?

Yeah

Well do you want him to know?

Idk, I wonder what he would say cause when I asked him what he thought of Niall he didn't sound to positive

He might get a bit jealous

That's were I mentally began scoffing. Yeah right, I thought. Never in a million years. I know he may have said "I do kinda still like you" but im finding that really REALLY hard to believe. Like really really hard. I know I shouldn't care so much but I do. I need to keep reminding myself what Zane said. "You broke up, forget about him" Okay I need to try. I really do.

The next day was a Thursday. But not any ordinary Thursday. The, lets say uniqueness, began at recess.

Ring Beep Ring Beep. Suddenly an alarm went off. The canteen was a buzz of noise with one main question being asked "Lockdown or evacuation?" Luckily I saw a teacher on duty and rushed over to ask what alarm it was. "Lockdown" She said "Go to your next classroom"

Slowly kids began to make their way to their classrooms. Well that was until we heard the principals voice over the loud speaker. "THIS IS NOT A DRILL. GET TO ANY CLASSROOM. GET TO THE NEAREST CLASSROOM"

The school froze. For about five seconds no one made a sound or moved a muscle. Then panic. People were running everywhere. Left, right, forward, backwards, in circles. Unfortunately I got split up from most of my friends and ended up in a classroom stuck between Max and Niall. Just my luck. I had no friend to panic with me. So I made up two peoples worth of panic. Especially when the teacher in the classroom said she had no idea why we were in lockdown.

Suddenly lots of kids got calls from their parents. Including me.

"Hi Mum"

"Eliza, are you okay?"

"Yeah, we are stuck in a boiling hot classroom with no air conditioner and we have been here for about ten minutes. Do you know what is going on?"

"No, Dad and I just got messages from the school saying you were under lock down"

"Yeah well we are, but we don't know why"

"Are you in a room with the neighbours?"

"No, why?"

"Because Natalee just got a message from Sarah saying 'If I don't survive today remember I love you' and when she tried to ring her she got no answer"

"Oh, no sorry. I have no idea what room they are in"

"That's okay. Ring me if you find out what is going on"

"okay Bye"

As soon as we hung up I began to freak out again. "Stop" Max kept saying to me. But I just couldn't. Especially when we found out we were locked down for a bomb threat. Not again, I groaned remembering my last encounter with a bomb threat. It was late at night and my family were coming home from Ronans school concert. We went straight through the intersection only to be told we couldn't enter as the school {which happened to be a private catholic girls high school} was in lock down because of a bomb threat. My whole family was panicking. My dog, who at the time was only a small puppy was left alone. Ronan and I were crying while mum and dad rang the police to try and figure out what was happening. Getting nowhere we decided to try and get through the street again. Luckily the scare was over and we could get home. But it was still scary.

Anyway, back to sitting under a desk in a cramped boiling hot classroom. It was the most fun time of my life, not! Max was texting T and she was talking to her dad and he was looking up what was going on. Supposedly it was an automated message from overseas sent to over 30 schools in Australia THAT SAME DAY. Over the past few months loads of schools had gotten the same message in Australia and all over the world.

An hour or so later we were finally let out. So relived. Our principal told us the news had stopped reporting on them as to not give more attention to the people doing it.

Everyone was happy they got out of the cramped situation but I was just happy I got out before an awkward situation happened.
