Jim

There once was a boy named Jim

He was very strange and slim

One day he was at school

He fell asleep and started to drool

There was so much it made a pool

Everyone laughed at Jim the Fool

He cried and cried to no avail

So Jim began to scream and wail

He yelled out, "I want a friend!

Either that or I want an end."

So Jim went home and took a knife

Then proceeded to end his life

His mom broke down when she saw her kid

She couldn't believe what her son did

She was so disturbed she took out a gun

And decided that she too was done

The dad saw them and couldn't think

So he walked to the bar and grabbed a drink

He consumed so much that he passed out

Everyone knew it was from his drinking bout

He looked for help from a higher faith

So he went to church where he felt safe.

He felt like God could not hear

For Christ took all that he held dear

He had some pills to help him cope

But he took them all at loss of hope.

Jim then awoke from his bad dream

So realistic, it had seemed.

He woke up in the middle of class

And Jim blushed incredibly fast

Because while he slept, Jim had drooled

Everyone laughed at Jim the Fool.

He cried and cried to no avail

So Jim began to scream and wail

He yelled out, "I want a friend!

Either that or I want an end."

So Jim went home to end his life

But then, he stopped, set down the knife

He realized that his life meant more

Than just the boy who drooled and snored.

His mom walked in to see Jim's tears

She had realized her greatest fears

She could read right through all Jim's lies

She saw the truth behind Jim's eyes.

It wasn't the laughing that started it all

It just was the thing to make Jim fall

His parents sought out help for their son

Because their problems were far from done.

This is probably the only poem I will ever post. My sister (dedication is to her) and I wrote the rough draft of this during a long car ride. I hope you guys enjoyed it.
