" Alright," Professor Dewey started. "This is how it'll work. I'll draw two names out of this here bowl," he says pointing to a glass bowl, " and you will be partners. Remember, you are to leave in two weeks to your first destination and there is no coming home until you have visited all of your places unless emergency and then you must contact me. Also, it is your choice on transportation. Now let us begin!"
He began pulling out names and grouping people together. Some people got their best friends, some people got people they hate, and some people got a partner whom that didn't even know. This went on and on until finally I heard my name.
" Vanessa and......," he reached to the very bottom of the little sticky notes with names on them. It felt like being reaped for The Hunger Games and finally he plucked one out looking like Effie Trinket. " Christina!" I look all around the room. I had never heard of anyone in the class named Christina, granted it is the first day. Finally a girl stands up and walks to the front of the classroom hazily like she was asleep
and writes; E = MC square. Professor Dewey laughs. " Oh Christina! I didn't wake you from your slumber in my class to answer a math problem. Haha!
No, you are in traveling class, after all. No, No! Your are partners with Vanessa! Do I need to repeat directions, too?"
She rubs her eyes and says, " Nope. I got Veronica over there."
" Vanessa."
"Right. Anyways"- before she can finish the bell rings and we are swept away by everyone and they all run out the class, including Professor Dewey.
"I'll call you" I try to yell out to her. But I doubt she heard it.
