Chapter 1
I woke up to the sound of Ann Marie's texting. Ugh, she's such a loud texter! " Ann, shut that thing up!" I threw a pillow at her.
" Oh, calm down. Your just jealous you don't have millions of people to text." " Just go back to bed." I closed my eyes and slowly fell back asleep.
My name is Autumn. I am the most popular girl at Josman High. That's fact, not an opinion. Everyone in the area knows that. My best friend is Ann Marie. She's been my best friend since kindergarten, and is also my beta. She was once the alpha of the school, but then I won Spring Queen and took her spot. I've won that title ever since!
Stand in my way, and you'll be an instant outcast.
My clique of besties are, Izzy, Caroline, and Heatherly. Of course, Ann Marie too! Together, we make the most powerful group in school.
I hurried out of bed so I could get the shower before Ann. Funny words, since it was my shower! I hurried to dry myself, then slipped on my new True Religion jeans with my shrunken Ralph Lauren blazer. I fish-tailed my hair and wrapped my hair in a bun. My new blonde highlights totally stood out! " Omg, there you are Autumn!" Ann Marie said as she walked in the bathroom. " Your new Steve Mads look fierce!" " Ann, I told you! We don't use "fierce" anymore! It's sooo out!" " Sorry!" " Well, cute mini skirt though." It was cute. White and ruffly with her new halter top. " Ann! C'mon let's go! We have to meet the girls at Starbucks," I said as I grabbed my bad and started down the stairs. " Kay, let's go!"
" 5 Vanilla Bean Fraps," I ordered for the five of us. I gave him a twenty. " On me."
" Thanks Autumn!" Izzy said. I lead the group to our usual table, the booth in the left corner. I sat in my usual spot by Ann Marie and Heatherly, Izzy, and Caroline sat on the other side. " Autumn, is Seventeen in or out?" Caroline asked. " Out." Caroline threw the magazine on the floor. " Are we going shopping today?" Heatherly asked.
" No. There's something I have to do."
" Good. Cause I have a date with Ashton and I wouldn't wanna miss out!" I sighed. Out of the five of us, Heatherly was the prettiest. With her long dark brown hair and her gorgeous green eyes, she would be thought of to be the leader. She would also score on all the guys, though she would turn down most of them to hang out with us. Most of them. " I thought you hated Ashton?" Ann Marie asked. " Well, after that new haircut, I changed my mind!" " I think you should dump him. He's such and idiot!" I said. " Is not! He's adorable, sweet, and smart."
" Fine, whatever! But don't bring him into my sight." " You won't see him." I stood up to throw away my cup, and the others did the same. " Ok, well, who can come over?"
" Can't. I have cheer," Izzy said. Did I mention Izzy was the cheerleader in our group? With her golden blonde hair and awesome flexibility, she was a natural born. " I have dance," Ann Marie said. Of course, Ann Marie was the dancer. She looked like a snotty, popular girl, but on the dance floor, she was something else.
" Well I gotta go anyway. Later girls!" We did our air-kisses, and parted our ways. But to be honest, I just wish that we could walk arm and arm down the street, giggling and laughing together, like old times. But we were older now, and everything was different. Instead of laughing and giggling, it was gossing and glossing, all the time. Suddenly, I tripped and fell. " Omg, I'm so sorry!" A girl said as she helped me up. " Watch where your going freak!" I snarled. " I'm really sorry, are you ok?" " Does is look like I'm ok?" She was quiet as she adjusted her shoes. " Well, my name is Brianna. I'm new here? I'm going to Josman this Monday." " Josman?" " Yeah! Do you go there?" " Duh!" " Well, maybe we could be friends?" I looked at her for a second." Did you just ask to be friends?" " Yep!" she nodded. " You look like you have a good sense of style. You wanna shop together? I need new clothes for Monday." I weighed the options. If I shopped with her, and someone from school saw me, they would think we were friends and that is NAWT an option. But making her over would be fun, and I had nothing better to do. " I guess so. But only an hour." "Great! Let's go to Justice!" " Justice? Ew, no! How old are you, 7? We're going to Ralph." I dragged her by the arm into Ralph Lauren. She was laughing. What a nerd.
