"Kevin, just go and wake up your brother!" Kevin's mother grumbled, "Is like almost 9 o' clock and he know he have chores to do and training inno"
"Yeah!" Kevin murmured while walking toward the room both he and his brother slept in.
"Chase!" he grumbled from in the doorway
Realizing that Chase was still fast asleep he walked over to bed.
"CHASE!!!" he shouted this time at the top of his lungs! "Mammy say wake up boy!" all the time so you go sleep like u dead!
Chase jumps up and immediately gets in his face! "Doh forget I is yuh big brother eh! The first thing you could get this morning is a cut ass"
Kevin shrugs him off and walks away.
"You wake him up?" Their mom asks as Kevin enters the kitchen, Kevin then makes a gesture for her to look behind him, as Chase came out the room behind him.
"You know what you have to do this morning eh?!"
"Yeah Yeah! Every Sunday is the same thing! but I have no time for chores this morning, i have to train for the CTE tomorrow" Chase responds!
"huh" Kevin looked puzzled "What is the CTE?" He asked
"You're my little brother and you don't know?" Chase asks " he continued "Well its only a national Examination it stands for Captain Trinidad Exam. it tests skills, strength, smarts, endurance and the power to think quick on your feet! the highest scorer is labelled as Captain Trinidad"
"Okay and whats so great about a label"
"What's so great? Well Captain Trinidad gets paid millions of dollars a year, to fight of any dangers that may threaten our sweet sweet nation!"
"Well that's cool I guess"
"cool? If I win i can take care of both you and mammy and we wouldn't have to live in this hole in the wall!"
"Boy shut it" Their mom intervened "Say thank God you have a roof over your head!"
"But-"
"Boy! Don't give me no lip eh, if you feel I is one of your lil friends with you!... you feel cause your father not around, you is man!" She grunted before Chase could speak.
"I going yes! I'll do them chores when I come back! Chase annoyingly grumbled as he walked past his mother and simultaneously grabbed his bag off the counter top.

Mira jumped down from the tree to where Chase was on the ground practicing his punches.
"Okay, Are you done now?" she asked annoyingly
he smirked at her " why you in a rush though?"
"Becauseee!!! There's a new doubles man down the road and I dying to try his doubles!"
"ha! Geez you could've gone without me!"
" i Know but, stuff is always better with you!"
Chase started blushing "Girl, doubles is doubles" he said sounding almost angrily, fighting to keep a straight face after Mira's last statement which had given him butterflies!
"You gonna come? or nah?" Mira asked as she pushed herself toward him
"yeah yeah" Chase responded while looking away

"Chase, how long now have we been together?" Mira asked Chase as they walked down the street, heading to the doubles stand.
"well one.. plus... three and then u carry the one , multiplied by..."
Mira pushed chased in a gentle manner "I'm serious! How long?"
"Its been a year and a half"
"Okay and how long have we know eachother?"
" wait why all these questions suddenly?"
"I don't know just wanna see if your big head is keeping track"
Chase smirked, "I'm not"... "I'm too cool to be keeping track of things like that!"
then he slung his arm around Mira's shoulders.
"okay what you want?" he asked as he realized they were now standing at the doubles vendor
"Umm i'll have a doubles with slight pepper" she said while raising her hand to the doubles man
"okay boss man and let me get a tripples, just sweet sauce!" Chase placed his order
The doubles man made the first and gave it to Mira
"Thanks, whoo hot boy!" she exclaimed,
"yes only the best here" the doubles man laughed and gave Chase his
"Alyuh go tell me how it taste eh.. I new on this corner and i looking for feedback" the doubles man exclaimed
Chase gobbled his down instantly before Mira could even start.
Mira took the first bite of her doubles and her entire face lit up red, she threw the entire thing in the air, throwing channa everywhere!
as she ran off Chase threw some money at the doubles man and stuck his hand in a cooler and shouted "I taking a drink, keep the change!
"MIRA WAIT!" Chase shouted as he chased down the road behind her.

They both sat under the shade of the tree where they were earlier with the empty drink bottle beside them.
Mira looked over at Chase and raised her hand to wipe his face, "everytime you eat you go make mess on your face like this?" she asked laughingly.
" I mean to think you wanna be Captain Trinidad and you can't even eat properly" she exclaimed while laughing out loud.
Chase looked at his feet,
He cupped both his hands and created an energy ball then proceeded to talk"its not funny , besides , I'm not sure if I'll pass the exams tomorrow and become Captain Trinidad" he sighed
"Come on Chase, I've seen you train, your talented and passionate, and I asked around, I heard its three parts to the exam, first is a written, then its a survival section and lastly its a battle against one of the other candidates!" she said seriously while looking up at the sky
'Wahhh' "Chase belled! a written? Boy I'm not gonna pass that, all my hopes and dreams gone already"
"Boy Chill! I also applied and got in as a candidate"
"what why? doesn't that lessen my chances of winning and becoming Captain Trinidad?"
"I'm not actually gonna try Idiot, with my smarts and medical skills, you'll have and ace on your side I'm just coming along to help you through! Plus I wouldn't even wanna be Captain Trinidad, like I just don't get it!"
"You realize that becoming Captain Trinidad means government is gonna fund my entire life right?"
"Yeah i get you"
"What is that all you have to say?" Chase laughed while throwing himself over her while pinning her to the grass.
"Chase get off of me!" she laughed
BURRRGHHHH!!!
Chase jumped off and held his stomach, he was shocked by the sound it had just made
BURGGGHHHH!!!!! now Mira grabbed hers "Chaseee, what did we drink? Mira asked almost not wanting him to answer, Chase picked the bottle up off the grass and rolled it so he could see the label, it read "Milky, the milkiest drink"
WAHHHHh!!! Mira exclaimed," you gave me doubles and milk?" she hopped up and ran off "I gotta get home!" she shouted, chase could hear her stomach as she ran off!
Burrghhh!!!
"Chase stomach growled again, yeah i better get home too" he said to himself as he ran off in the same direction!
