"High school? Tomorrow?" Grace exclaimed.
"Yeah, I know right! I just never want to go back." Emily said looking sympathetic towards her best friend since 2nd grade.
"No, Emily! This is high school it's a big deal! I won't be able to get into Brown if I get bad grades this year!" Grace said doubting herself.
" Don't worry it's fine! Hey, at least your family moved with us to Florida, so we both won't be alone." Emily explained exasperated.
"Yeah, I guess so," Grace said hesitating slightly. "Well I'll go back home, get some sleep, Em."
"Okay, mom," Emily said sarcastically. "See ya at the bus stop tomorrow."
Grace gave a nod of acknowledgment and departed Emily's condo.
Ha! Brown University? I'll be lucky if I even make it in to community college. Maybe I will go to college after I have kids and they go to middle school. Maybe I will go to college at 35... 40... 50. Wait. Maybe I shouldn't go to college. I don't know how Grace plans her life out so easily!
****************************************** "Taco Tuesday! Yay! I love you mom! Thanks!" Emily said with a mouth full of tortilla.
"No problem, sweetie. Just please get to bed on time tonight. Go to sleep at 9:00 tonight."
Emily nodded and walked down the hall to her room and locked the door. She grabbed her radio and plugged her phone in. Since the phone was on shuffle it started to play random songs.
Meghan Trainer. Nah! Taylor Swift. Nope! Nickelback? EW NO!
WHY IS THAT ON MY PHONE?
When the phone shuffled again to Hands to myself by Selena Gomez Emily stopped shuffling.
I love this song.
As Emily laid her head down she started to drift off to sleep.
At 1:49am Emily awoke to the sound of crashing. She checked to see if her parents were asleep. They were. So Emily went back to bed.
5 minutes later another crashing sound was heard at her window. Emily opened up the window to see the cute boy, Jake standing there from down the street. Emily had a crush on him since she moved to Florida.
Opening up the screen of the window, Emily said," Jake, is that you what are you doing here?"
"Yeah it's me, I need to tell you something important. Can I come inside?
"Uh, yeah. Just be quiet. Climb through the window."
After Jake climbed through the window, him and Emily were staring at eachother.
"So what did you want to tell me?" Emily asked falling out of his trance.
"I-I-I really like you Em. I wanted to know if you like me. And maybe we can go out?" Jake exclaimed nervously.
"Y-Y-yeah I like you too. Why do you like me though? There are so many other girls in Florida who are so much prettier than me." Emily said calmly trying not to make Jake too nervous.
"Because you are beautiful, kind, smart, and amazing in every way. And I love you Em." Jake said as he leaned in for a kiss.
Emily felt like electricity was zapping through both of them. She had kissed other boys before but Jake was by far the best. And hey, if it doesn't work out between Emily and Jake there is always college next year, and believe me, there are a lot of sexy guys in college.
