It all started when we were in first grade. We hated each other; he would pull my hair and tease me, and I would kick and tattle on him. We even had to be placed in separate classes for two years.

Everyone says it's a miracle how we became friends. I think we became friends on whim. Maybe being separated for two years made us miss each other's irritating presence. Who knows? Who cares? All that matters is that we're friends now, right?

Wrong.

We aren't friends; not anymore at least. When the people around us noticed our sudden gap, they were shocked. They said we were perfect for each other, our initials matched for crying out loud! But maybe that wasn't enough.

Who am I kidding? I completely agreed with them. We were perfect for each other, a match made in heaven. Yet I just had to ruin the magical bond we had. I couldn't stand being friend zoned. That's why I did it. That's why I kissed Ethan Howell.
