Chapter 2 - What Happened

Gray's POV
I noticed Natsu sitting in the corner of the guild, so I called him to start a fight but he didn't answer me.

Gray's POV
It was weird, it was like Natsu entered a different dimension and his body was left there. I was about to call him again when Happy stopped me and shook his head signalling that I should stop. I looked at Happy, confused as to why he would stop me when he told me to look at Natsu properly. I looked at Natsu again and noticed that his knuckles were tightened so hard that it turned white, his eyes looked like he would cry any moment and his face looked like he just witnessed something terrible. Just what happened during his mission and that reminds me, didn't he go with Lucy. I turned to Happy asking him where's Lucy but the exceed didn't answer he just looked down and flew away. I started getting worried so I asked for Erza, Mira and Levy to tell them what happened so that me and Erza can talk to Natsu while Mira and Levy can talk to Lucy. After I told them what happened we decided to talk to both Lucy and Natsu separately.

Levy's POV
After I heard what happened from Gray I got really worried so me and Mira headed over to Lucy-chan's apartment to see if she was there, when we reached we saw her sleeping on her table. I decided to clean the plate and the fork on the table while Mira went to get a blanket for Lucy but I noticed a little bit of cake on the plate so I left it in the fridge since I knew it was her favourite, she probably wouldn't want to waste it, I also noticed Aquarius's broken key on the table as I looked at it sadly. When I walked over to help Mira with placing the blanket I saw a letter underneath Lucy's head and I saw a few tear drops on the paper and it was till fresh. I motioned Mira to come over and help me take the letter from underneath Lucy's head so that we could see what was written on it.

Mira's POV
Me and Levy read the whole letter from coming back from the mission to the cake on the floor, we were speechless. Everyone knew how much Lucy and Natsu liked each other but looking at this, you could tell that this is something that is not fixed easily. Me and Levy stared at Lucy with pity, we don't think her fragile heart can handle anymore burdens. With her parents passing away and Aquarius's broken key to Sting cheating on her and now this.

Erza's POV
This is bad, I don't know what happened but I have a bad feeling about this. Me and Gray went over to the table Natsu was sitting on and brought Happy too, just in case. We asked him questions about what happened and he told us, but in a soft voice when suddenly he stopped. He was talking about how he was running towards Lucy to give her the cake when he just stopped like a force was stopping him in his tracks. We encouraged him to go on but it was like he was scared, " I...I ran to her and.. and I saw her there with...with Sting and they were...they were...", Natsu said like he was gonna cry any moment. Happy calmed him down and told him to go home while he would explain what happened to us, Natsu shook his head up and down and slowly, carefully walked out.

Gray's POV
Happy told us what happened and we felt so guilty for forcing Natsu to speak about what happened.After that we decided to head over to Erza's apartment to talk it out with Levy and Mira. After we shared both sides of the story, it was like we uncovered a huge hole that we could not fill. The only thing running through our minds at that moment is will they ever get better.
