The surprise visit

I had spent the next day cowering in fear in my cubicle or  basically the space near the plants where no one even goes .I had heard the news of my 'success' in L.A had already spread probably in the whole area of my office.I had already started packing my things in a box and started booking plane tickets for home, Detroit.Everyone in the office was giving me the 'oh poor you ' looks with a glad its you smirk.

"Hey ariana heard you started working for animal planet channel.",dylan,my co-worker said hi-fiving his friend,Rick.

"Yeah,maybe over there you will finally get a cubical which is actually inside a office rather than near the ladies washroom",rick said cracking everyone up.

I gave them a get -lost glare.

"Ariana,Mr. Perkins wants to see you NOW",said Nina,his assistant.SHIT,the moment has come where I will be given the official goodbye.

"Ariana,hurry up.He has another meeting in 5 minutes.",nina said irritated.Great! he is definitely going to fire me that too within 5 minutes.I hurried and went to his cabin knocking on his door.

"Come in",said Mr.Perkins.

"Hello Mr.Perkins you wanted to see me?",i said looking anywhere but at him.

"Yes,please take a seat.".I sat unwillingly.I didn't want to hear another its not you its our management speech from him .

"Ok,Ms Ariana Greene I will be straight with you.I just had a call from  Nike saying that they won't accept our deal and to not bother sending anyone from 'the lions'.",he said saying in a flat voice.

"Yes,I am sorry Mr. Perkins ,I was having an bad day and It just all came out.",i said apologizing.

"Well ,that is no excuse.You know we had high hopes from this deal and we took a chance on you and sent you to L.A and what do you do?You ruin our 5 yr old relationship with them.",he said angrily.

"I am sorry Mr.Perkins. I will be professional from next time.You have my word.It won't happen again.",i said pleadingly.

"You bet it won't because congratulations you have lost your right to meet clients onsite. You won't even be meeting them at the Starbucks across the street.",he said annoyingly.

The phone on his desk rang with Nina's voice playing,"Mr. Perkins your 3'0 clock appointment is here.",she said excitedly.Well that's rare why is nina so excited .Has Chris Evans decided to meet him.Well,whoever he is ,he has saved my life this time.

"Hmmph. Now go to your cubicle before I shift your cubicle inside the ladies washroom.",he said grudgingly. 

I went to the door without looking who was entering and trying not to cry.I dashed against warm solid chest and before I could fall down ,arms grabbed me .

I looked up into warm big green eyes looking at me with familiarity and amusement.OH MY GOD.NOT HIM.

"I'm sorry again senorita.",he said leaving my arms when he was sure I was able to stand on my own.

Mr.Perkins coughed and i came to my senses and ran away from the cabin before he could find another reason to fire me.

WHAT THE HELL WAS HE DOING HERE?when i went to my cubicle ,everyone was busy trying to look into Mr. Perkins cabin and forgot about my humiliation completely.

"Whoa ,what a guy.Alessio is so cool",said rick.

"Yeah did you see his winning goal in last fifa. He.He was amazing.He totally changed the game at last minute.",Dylan said almost drooling.

"Yeah his penalty shoot outs are awesome.You saw his last fling,the model Alexander.Alexander. Damm she's soo hot",rick said going quickly to girls from football.

"Yeah he's also damm hot.I mean look at his biceps and his lovely brooding green eyes.A girl just has to look at them to fall in love with him",said another girl from behind Rick.

I ignored all of them until someone came to the main point that he was going to be the ambassador of 'the lions' worldwide if the deal was a success.

I almost fainted.I was going to see him a lot.GOD WHY?

I hid the whole day eating lunch at a nearby cafe then in the cafeteria in the office,walking the stairs rather than taking the elevator .I went home early deciding the stress was too much to handle.After all even the boss now didn't care what I did as long as I don't open my big fat mouth in front of his clients.

I went home and spent the whole day in front of t.v with the chocolate ice -cream tub celebrating my break-up and my almost jobless status.

I went next day to the office hoping to suffer in silence.

"Hey Ariana,you have a meeting today with alessio ambrosi today in an hour.",he said like he was reading from a voice machine.

The whole office looked at me as if the boss had announced I was going to act in a movie with Tom cruise.

"WHAT?",i said loudly.

He looked at me pityingly and said,"yeah,why don't you come to my cabin.Maybe I can explain you over a cup of coffee or maybe two.You look like you need plenty.",he said murmuring to himself.

We were in his cabin."Ariana,Mr Ambrosi has signed a 10 million dollar contract with us to be our ambassador for a year.But theirs a condition,he wants only you from the company to deal with him and go to meetings and promotional tours with him.I tried selling rick,dylan or even charolette but he only wanted you.God knows what he saw in you.No offense Ariana ,you are not a big catch here.",he said giving me a varying look.

Yeah i was no big catch which surprised me even more."Why me?I don't want to do it.I will do something else.Please take me off this deal."

"Are you crazy?I'm no more interested with you in this deal than you are but we are talking of Alessio Ambrosi,the world footballer.Do you know how much revenue that can get us and we can come in fortune top 50.You may get a 50% hike too after that provided you don't screw up and a cubicle away from those bushes near the washroom.But If you try to screw this up ,mark my words,you will be fired immediately with no severance package.Do you understand.Do whatever he wants .Make him happy.",he said without even looking at me.

I was trapped ,i had no option."Yes Mr.Perkins."

"Now go get ready for your meeting and for go sake put something on your face.You look like you have grieved  for the whole country in one night.",he said dismissing me without giving me a look.

Why did Alessio wanted to deal with me. Wasn't it enough that i was a walking joke in that plane for the whole ride.Looks like I will get my answers only from him.I better start looking for other jobs as he's definitely going to be a pain in the ass.
