FORBIDDEN

Chapter 1- Bethrothal

"Jasmine , get your tail down here this instant!" my mom shouted from downstairs.

I released a sigh and got up from my bed in my nightgown and went downstairs to see what she wanted.

When I arrived downstairs I headed straight to the kitchen because I knew that was where I would find my mother.

"Why are you dressed like that. Hurry up and put on something nice. The Alpha and his sons are coming over for breakfast."

I hurried to do as I was told. This was truly an awesome privilege to dine with the Alpha. Even though my father was the Beta of the pack, we couldn't socialise with the Alpha.

I went upstairs and headed straight for the shower. I spent approximately twenty minutes scrubbing my skin so that it looked clean and pale. Afterwards I got ready. I put on a long sleeved turtle neck dress. It was appropriate for you to cover yourself when around an Alpha.

After ensuring that I was ready, I went downstairs and stood on the porch waiting for the Alpha to arrive.

About forty five minutes later, I saw the black sedan that the Alpha drove. I knelt and bowed my head as a sign of respect.

Shortly afterward , I heard footsteps coming towards me. By this time, my mother had arrived on the porch and had knelt beside me.

"Welcome to my humble abode Sirs "she said referring to the Alpha and his three sons .

"Arise" the Alpha responded.

We went inside and sat around the dining table for breakfast .

My mother really outside her self. Stacks of pancakes and waffles were all over the table, eggs , bacon,orange wedges and milk. I licked my lips, my stomach rumbling and my mouth salivating for a single bite.

The Alpha sat at the head of the table and his middle and youngest sons sat beside him. The eldest son sat at the other end of the table as was tradition and my father sat beside him.

"Thank you for welcoming us into your home",the Alpha said in his booming voice.

"Our home is yours and we are just your loyal stewards", my mother replied with her head bowed.

It seemed as if her reply pleased him because there was a shadow of a smile on his lips before it was wiped away.

"Eat" he commanded.

That was all it took for me to dive down into my plate of food. I tried using the knife and fork that I was given to eat with but it just wasn't working out for me. I quickly discarded the knife and fork and instead used my fingers. I picked up a golden waffle and shoved it in my mouth.

"Hmm" I moaned as my tasted became alive. I quickly broke the waffle in two, placing the smaller portion back in my plate and the bigger piece in my mouth.

I was so lost in my own paradise that I did not realise that everyone had stopped eating and was staring at me.

It was the clearing of throat that bought me back to reality. I looked up and saw everyone staring at me, including the Alpha.

I froze and swallowed in a loud gulp. "Commendations to the cook" I said sheepishly as I looked at my mother, her eyes filled with disapproval.

It was the Alpha that saved me. His booming laughter startling all of us. We have never heard the Alpha laugh.

"I like her" he said, still laughing,"she has spirit"

I along with everyone else laughed. There was nothing else that we could do.

After the meal, we all adjourned to the living room at the command of the Alpha.

" I am not going to beat around the bush", he says, looking directly in my eyes.

"I want you to mate my son, William"
