I woke up this morning to the sound of dishes rattling. Must be that old dish washer again. I looked at the time. It read 6:15 AM. Holy crap! I'm late!
I slipped into my rugged pair of skinny jeans and a spaghetti strap shirt. I shifted my arms and head through the sleeves of my black hoodie, grabbed my bag, and marched out the door to my car.
As soon as I got to school, the bell for class to start, rang. I hurried to my locker and put away my things and retrieved my textbook for chemistry. I skipped 11th grade so now I'm in 12th.
I sat next to a girl named Tiffany. God, she annoyed me. All she does is talk. Mrs.Brooks said "Don't talk or I will give your quiz a zero.." What does she do? She asks me the answer to number 7. I gave her a dirty look and she didn't ask me again.
Lunch time rolled around and of course I went and sat in my car to eat. As usual.
Then came the end 7th period and the race began to get to my locker without being tripped, kicked, or made fun of. As soon as I reached my locker I unlocked it and left. Now to work. The usual routine.
I slapped on my uniform in the bathroom and got to work. This time I went to feed the cats in the cages. I hated that. They deserve to be free. If I could adopt every single on of them and make them all happy for the rest of their little kitty lives, I would. But I don't have enough money for that. I don't even have enough money to buy a car. The only reason I have one is because the school pays me to go to and from work.
I sold a couple animals and locked up the store. I made my nightly trip to Burger King. There the boy with sparkling green eyes was standing at the register. I pulled my phone out of my purse to check the time. It read 8:00 PM. I closed up early. Oh well, it was a slow night anyways.
"Hey.. umm Casssss-?" He looked at me with a questioning look.
"Cassie." I smiled knowing he had at least remembered the first part of my name. I hope he didn't notice my cheeks getting hot.
"Ahhhh Cassie!" He suddenly remembered like a bomb went off in his head. "So, anyways, can I get you something?"
"Uh, yeah.. I'll have the chicken salad with no dressing or breadsticks. Oh, and a water."
"Coming right up!" He cracked a smile before turning to make the food. I admired his head from behind, thinking about how beautiful he was.
"Here you go, Cassie." He handed me the bag ringing out my name to make sure he got it correct.
I nodded and went to sit down with my food. About five minutes passed before Dalton came to sit in front of me.
"So, we close up in about 10 minutes and I was wondering if you wanted to come to a party at my friends house with me? You see, I never go to these things and I'm just a really akward person and maybe with a girl as beautiful as you, well, I just wanna see you longer to be honest." He blushed and lowerd his head.
"Yeah sure but, I have to change out of these clothes." We both laughed at my ugly uniform that badly needed a washing.
"Yeah sure, but you don't mind changing in the bathroom do you?"
"Not at all." I threw away my trash and walked into the ladies restroom. I pulled out the clothes form my bag that I was wearing earlier. I quickly dressed and met Dalton by the same table. He had already changed into a plaid button down shirt covered by a converse brand jacket with skinny jeans. He looked so hot!
"Not too shabby!" I remarked when I saw his stunning clothing. He nodded.
"You do realize it's snowing outside?" I looked down on my grey spaghetti strap shirt. My hoodie? I forgot it in my locker. Great. I nodded and looked at my feet.
"Here, take mine." He shifted his jacked on to my bare shoulders and walked me to the door.
