Night

If I were to die tonight,

I would look back on life and laugh.

So many people rush and don't see those who love them deeply.

I would sit on the front steps and watch,

 People come and go,

  So little time,

   To see so much.

If I were to die tonight,

I would sit by your bedside...

  Just to say good bye.

I'd whisper in your ear,

Tell you to hang on just a little longer.

And you wouldn't know the better,

Wouldn't feel the cold lips against your forehead...

Until morning came,

 And you realized-

  My act came true.
