The Quidditch Match

Jane was running late, like 20 minutes late. She was running around her dorm room looking for ponytails and bobbypins to get her hair up for the quidditch match against Ravenclaw. If she left it down it would go everywhere and she wouldn't be able to fly, so she needed them. She finally found her sports bra and ponytails so she threw on her robes and darted out the portrait hole, down several flights of stairs, then had to run back to get her broom, all while putting up her hair. Sienna and Penny weren't very helpful seeing as Sienna was also on the team and left, and Penny was already in the stands. Riley helped her by-consequently- grabbing her broom and crashing into Jane.
"Thanks, Riley, let's go!" And with that the girls ran as fast as they could down to the game.
Luke was up in the front of the stands watching the teams practice before the game. Most people wouldn't think it, but he really was quite the quidditch fanatic. His friends Mason and Emmit were on the team with Jane and Sienna, along with a couple other blokes. Luke watched as the teams flew down from their practice positions and went to go huddle in the shower room or whatever it was called. Luke went back to reading his book, and glanced over to his friends. Allen was making out with his girlfriend Frankie and Mark was watching a spot near the castle. Luke looked to where he was looking and saw two small figures running down to the pitch. I thought I hadn't seen Jane on the pitch thought Luke. Without a second glance he ran through the the stands down to meet her, Mark watching him intently.

Jane was almost to the pitch when she was met by a very handsome head of red hair.
"Hullo, Luke. Look, I know that you probably will yell at me and give me a lecture but for now I really need to get to the locker rooms," she said, all in a hurry. Apparently Luke didn't hear her correctly because he just had a confused look on his face. Jane sighed and pushed past him, Riley going up to the stands while Jane went to the locker room. Mark smirked at his best mate from the stands, seeing the interaction. Luke decided he wouldn't let her leave that easily.
"Jane," he said, drawing out her name, which sent a pleasurable shiver down her spine. "Tsk tsk, being late for a quidditch match?"
"Luke! I don't have time for this!"
"According to last years Valentine's note you always have time for me," he said, a slow smirk forming on his face.
"Please, Luke, I really, really have to go, the team is counting on me!"
"Alright alright," he said with a smirk on his face. The wind was blowing his hair in all different directions, with that devilish smile and hot green eyes and- no, Jane, no! Snap out of it you have a quidditch match to get to!
"Luke, you know that I adore talking with you, but I have to go," Jane said, walking past him.
As she walked away Jane swore that she heard him call after her, "Win a game for me Potter,"
With that Jane played the best game she ever had.

After the match Jane was smiling in triumph. The Gryffindors had won the match, 843 to 178!  All of the Gryffindors rushed down to the pitch to congradulate the team. All but one. Jane looked around her, but she couldn't see Luke. Dissappointment sank in her chest. Of course he didn't come over, he hates me. Which really, really sucks, Jane thought. But, even though the love of her life wasn't there, she still accepted the congradulations from her fellow Gryffindors. They carried the team back to the castle and set them down. Jane immediatley caught up with Sienna and Penny, Riley was already on his way to the kitchens. The Marauders were going to throw a party. Not just any party, though, a Mauradetts party. The best of them all. Where even the first years were downstairs, on the tables, screaming their heads off to the sound of blasting music. It's a wonder that the rest of the castle couldn't hear them, they were really loud after all. Jane detatched herself from the group, ready to sneak off to bed when a head of very red hair caught her eye. She soon forgot about it though for she was shoved into the portait hole, being welcomed with the sound of large applause and screaming. Jane was set down, and as soon as she made a few appearences, ate some food, and danced and yelled on a table for a while, she was exausted. She stumbled her way out of the portait hole, making sure no one saw her, and climbed behind some armor. Little did she know that Luke was doing the same thing, but he was standing stalk-still, as to not get caught. Jane hit her head against the wall, thinking of what Luke had said before the game and sighed, leaning back and muttering to herself.
"Why does he have to be so hot! He couldn't just be a normal dumb bloke, no, he had to be devilish and perfect and he even played a prank on me! He likes quidditch, which is huge, and he's so damn smart! I can just imagine him with glasses at night and waking up all tired and shirtless and UGH!" She said, loud enough for Luke to hear. He certainly heard what happened next. When she had yelled, she toppled into the armor, sending it crashing to the floor in the process. Luke tried to hold back a gasp and laughter, but make an "eek!" sound that was luckily covered by the crashing of armor. But Jane still heard it.
"Luke?" She asked. Luke didn't answer. That is, until a very familiar cat with big yellow eyes came around the corner and he let loose a yelp, before Jane grabbed his hand and quickly dragged him into the portait hole. The two opened it a crack to see Filch outside, and when they closed the door, they both leaned against it, scared, before bursting into laughter. For the rest of the night they just sat there, and talked. No fighting, no outbursts, no perverted jokes, no asking out, nothing. They just sat there and had a nice, friendly conversation. No one bothered them, they could barely hear themselves over the sound of the party, and yet it was in that moment that Luke realized he really did like her. He was falling for Jane Potter. She had said all of those things, and she meant them. She really liked him. It wasn't just because he didn't like her yet. It wasn't because he was cute, it was because she liked him for him. And now he couldn't get her off his mind. So it was that night when Jane had gone upstairs for a short while and the pair had joked in her room, that Luke fell asleep on the floor next to the door to her dorm on his way downstairs and Jane woke up to see a messy bed head with cute tired eyes and a devilish scowl on his face. This was just what she needed to see after their big game.
