The man looked across the grassy plain. He raised his binoculars to see the mountain ridge line. The man was dressed in dark clothes to conceal himself in the impenetrable darkness of the night. He opened his backpack and pulled out a barrel and a stock. He attached the two pieces together and looked through the scope.

10 miles away, a train came barreling towards Rock Hill. The conductor was sitting up front, smoking a cigar and reading the newspaper as his assistant watched the rails. They were unknowingly going into a danger as present as the blackness of the night.

As the train drew nearer to the hill, the man raised his rifle. He looked through the window and and got the assistant in the crosshairs. The man in black pulled the trigger and watched as the silenced bullet flew towards the train.

The conductor saw his assistant fall and the window shatter. He was covered in blood from a perfect headshot. The conductor couldn't do anything. The train accelerated and derailed along the hill. It plummeted down to the grassy plain below.

The man saw the window break and turned around. He melted into the trees and night. It was like he was never there.
