The black pickup truck came straight at his car. It was going at least eighty miles an hour. The driver was looking right at Will. Will never saw the car. The truck slammed into the side of his car. Will heard the scream, the tearing of metal, he saw the blood, and then, nothing.
Will woke up, hearing the fire trucks and police sirens. He saw blood on the mangled steering wheel. He realized that the windshield was gone and there were people standing around him. He heard voices. Will tried to look around but could not. He was stuck under his entire car. All of a sudden, he felt the car rolling. They were flipping his car to get him out. Will still couldn't move. He barely registered the fact that he was being cut out of the car. The roof was being cut off. He fell back into unconsciousness again.
Will awoke again, felling dizzy. He was now in a hospital bed, surrounded by nurses and hospital staff. He was trying to listen in on their conversation.
"Is he going to live?," one doctor asked.
"We don't know yet, it's a hit or miss," replied the second doctor. Will was very confused. They thought I had died.
He had no family to see him in the hospital so he would be lonely for a while. But Will liked that. Will looked at the cast on his leg. He tried to move his other leg but couldn't. I must be on some kind of medication. He didn't know what it was.
A doctor walked over to him.
"Are you awake?," she asked him.
"Yeah, but my leg won't move. What kind of drugs did you put in me?," Will was unquestionably angry, which was apparent to the doctor.
"Do you really want to know?," she replied in an infuriatingly calm voice.
"Yes," Will was trying to be more calm, but it was hard. He still had a million questions racing through his head.
"Well sir, you were paralyzed from the waist down. We'll give you a wheelchair if you want." Will's head started spinning. Paralyzed, that can't be happening. No. No. NO!
"Do you think that this is a joke?," Will was outraged, "I don't like it when people joke about this. What is going on?"
"Sir, I told you, you are paralyzed-" Will cut her off mid sentence,
"No. I will not accept it."
"Okay, have fun with that." the doctor walked away, out of Will's room. He still had many questions, the biggest one being the fact that Will had no idea who was driving the truck that had hit him. He was so tired and sick of everything that was happening. Will fell back and went to sleep
