The day I ask.

I woke up this morning and got ready so I looked half decent when I went to go get Dylan. It took me about an hour to get ready, when I was done I went to Dylan's room to see if he was awake so I could tell him that I was going to ask mom. I went down the hall and knocked on Dylan's door.
"Come in."
I opened the door and walked in, once I walked in I noticed that Dylan was already ready for the day and that he was prepared for something.
"Dylan, today's the day I'm going to ask mom about us..."
"Really? Why today?"
"Because I'm more prepared today."
"Alright, I'll be with you the whole time, okay?"

"Hey mom, dad, I have a question.."
My mom spoke and said.
"Yes child."
I sighed again.
"Why do me and Dylan have a different skin tone than you two?"
Dad inhaled his coffee and mom stopped dead in her tracks. Mom looked at dad and he sighed while nodded for her to tell us.
"You and Dylan aren't... Blood related... Abel's not your dad.."
My jaw dropped and said
"Then who's my dad?"
"I guess it's time I told you...."
And then she started..
