Caitlin is a girl with big dreams. She has average height, average weight, average I.Q. and she’s just a normal person walking pass the hall. But one thing about her that will never change is the way he looked at the same guy for 3 years. And that guy was Keith. Keith was a really hot looking guy in a way that most girls would probably date or would die for.
It’s prom season. But it’s not a typical prom because girls will ask and boys will wait. In the back of Caitlin’s mind is a really high chance for her to be noticed by someone whom she liked. So she decided to ask him, Keith, quick. While she was walking towards him, she saw another girl in front of Keith, asking him to prom. She didn’t heard much but she’s pretty sure that that girl is already asking him.
She glanced over the two and noticed that the girl kissed him and gave him a hug. So she knew it. Keith is now taken. Her heart is really into pieces. She can’t explain what was the feeling but she’s really sad and broken.
Caitlin heads to the lockers. When she opened her locker, she noticed a note. And that note says, “I’m waiting.” Shocked, she looked around. She did not saw someone that would most probably left the note. So she just ignored it. Someone might have made a mistake of choosing the right locker.
She attended her last class, which was Chemistry laboratory. The teacher arrived and the teacher will pair up some students randomly and that pair should work on the experiment which was a week long activity. Almost all were paired up expect for Keith, Caitlin, the autistic geek and the most popular cheerleader in their school. Hoping for the best, Caitlin prayed that she’ll be paired up with Keith. And yes! It’s them.
Caitlin and Keith are required to be together for the whole week. They hang out, ate lunch together and shared stuff about each other. There was this conversation that popped out when they were having recess at Starbucks.
“Keith, so Ashley’s your prom date? I saw you two hugging and kissing each other one time.”
“Ahh that. Well, she’s not.” He replied.
“But what did I saw? And everyone knows that you like her. How come?”
“The thing that you was just an exchange for saying no.”
Caitlin was so happy.
“Uhm Caitlin, have you asked someone?”
“Nope. Not yet.” She answered.
“Great.”
“ Huh What??????” She’s really confused right now.
“No. I mean. Great. No one will kick my ass out for being your pair.”
“lol okay? So what’s your plan for prom?”
“Well. I’m actually waiting.” He said.
“For?”
“For y—“
Keith did not had the chance to continue because Caitlin realized that she needs to go home now. Caitlin left him and said that they’ll just continue their conversation next time.
Proooooooom!
All dressed up. Caitlin and Keith met at the party. They are together during prom.
In the middle of nowhere,
“Why don’t you have a date?” Keith asked.
“Well why don’t you have a date?” She giggled.
“Well, I was waiting for you to ask me to prom but you didn’t.” He said seriously.
Caitlin remembered the note and knew it was him. She was shocked and became speechless. And finally she put her thoughts into words.
“Why me?” She asked.
“Because I love you.” He said by his heart and kissed Caitlin.
And for Caitlin, IT WAS THE PERFECT FIRST KISS.
