The Killing Six. An assassin group widely known by everyone in their time, and known for their brutality and their effectiveness on making anyone disappear.
Each man was recruited by the same person, and that person being the head honcho, Jeremy.
Jeremy recruited Brad because he was a professional racer, who retired to take the more subtle life of welding.
Jamie was in the military but was sent home due to a gunshot wound to the leg. Even though he suffers from PTSD, Jeremy recruited him because he could really use his expertise in guns and stealth.
Mike had years and years of experience with computers and could hack into any firewall. So Jeremy not only recruited him for that but got him out of prison where he was doing for hacking into the Pentagon.
David could build any gun and any weapon you could think of. He also knew how to use them very well. But he was very mannered and knew exactly what he wanted in a woman, and had very high standards. Jeremy brought him in for a job to woo a woman to get information. Jeremy never told him his job was done so he stayed.
Ricky was something special. He was in a bar drinking away his grief after his wife and daughter died in a car accident. Jeremy stopped by the bar to have a drink after a job and for whatever reason decided to pick a fight with fight with Ricky. It was the only fight Jeremy ever lost and he was so impressed by that, he brought him in.
But Ricky wasn't the only person Jeremy met that night.
" Oh my gosh are you okay?" asked a very beautiful woman who long dark brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes.
All Jeremy could do was stare at her, and the unthinkable happened: he fell in love.
" Hey, I'm Jeremy " he said holding one eye and looking at the beautiful woman with the other.
" Haha. I'm Lana, but seriously are you okay" she replied. They dated for two months before they tied the knot. Early for normal people maybe but the two were madly in love. And about a month after that they received some good news, well depending on how you looked at it, bad news.
" Lana is with child. I'm going to be a dad" said Jeremy excitedly.
" What?" asked Jamie.
" What are you going to do, you're job is at stake" said Brad.
" Jeremy, you can't leave Lana behind when we go on jobs. It wouldn't be fair to her" said David being the voice of reason.
Ricky got up and left the room. He thought it wasn't fair that Jeremy was having a baby. He felt he didn't deserve it.
"But it's bad enough she's living in the house with us. She takes the "man"out of man cave" said Mike.
" It's a girl" said Jeremy getting up and walking out.Nine months came and went. The baby girl was ready to met the world, but things didn't go as smoothly as planned. During labor there was excessive bleeding in her uterus. She bled out and died.
Jeremy didn't know to do. He didn't think he could take care of her on his own. He brought her home the day after so he could figure out what he could do.
"I'm home" Jeremy said quietly walking in the door. He called all the men after Lana died and told them what happened.
" Jeremy we are so sor-"
" Can you occupy her so I can figure out what I'm going to do" Jeremy interrupted.
He handed her to Jamie and walked out the room.
" She's so cute, but she looks exactly like Jeremy at the same time. How is that possible?" asked Mike.
" But she has Lana's eyes" Brad commented.
" Did he name her?" asked David.
The baby girl began to cry and the men began to try to calm her. Ricky then walked into the room, grabbed the baby from Jamie and began to do small bounces with her in his arms.
" We will call her Lakota" said Ricky with a smile.Jeremy walked in the room where he saw the men singing brown eyed girl to his daughter. It was then that he realized that the best place for her was there with them.
" Kota get up. It's time for your lesson." said Mike.
Lakota rolled over to see him in her doorway.
" Uncle Mike I'm 18, I should be graduated by now" said Lakota with her face stuffed in a pillow.
" If you get up now, I'll go first on tonight's Friday Brawl" said Mike with with a conning sound in his voice.
" You got it bud" replied Lakota with a smile.
Mike homeschooled Lakota out of Jeremy's wishes. He was afraid public school wouldn't give Lakota the knowledge she needed for everyday life. Her classes started at 4 am every morning. This time was most convenient because Mike and all the other uncles had to be at work early and got off fairly late. They all worked at the warehouse Jeremy owned.Lakota got done with her studies and went to go make her dad and uncles lunch for work, which is something she did because she wanted to not because she had to. She always made sure they had food to eat, clean clothes on there back, and a clean house to come home to, because the men in her life always made sure she had everything she needed and taught her everything she needed to know.
Jeremy taught her martial arts, three different types to be exact. Mike taught her how to use computers and how to hack. Brad taught her to drive a stick shift and weld. David taught her manners and how a lady should act.
Jamie taught her to shoot a gun. And Ricky, who was her favorite uncle was her ride or die. He always made her laugh and always made sure she was happy. Oh, and he taught her how to roll a mean joint. You're probably thinking how would a girl in a house full of men learn about the important lady things. Well easy answer: Jeremy has a sister, Jenny. One situation were Jenny was needed was when Lakota... Became a lady.
" Jenny, um I need your help" Jeremy said into the phone.
" She started her-" Jeremy pulled the phone from his face. She hung up.
It was not even five minutes later that Jenny bust through the front door holding a box of tampons like she was on a serious mission.
But Lakota being in a house full men did cause some issues though.
" How old are you honey" asked a case worker.
" I'm 8" Lakota replied with a smile "I'll be 9 in September"
" Ok, so tell me about your uncles. Have they ever touched you" asked the lady with serious face.
" Me and Ricky got into a tickle fight today. Oh, and David held my hand when we walked across the street" replied Lakota.
" I mean inappropriately" said the woman.
" What! No! They are my uncles and they love me! They would never hurt me!" screamed Lakota.
Jeremy and the uncles heard her screams then came running in.
" What's wrong baby" asked Jeremy, picking up Lakota.
" Did you upset my niece?" asked Jamie.
" She asked me if my uncles have ever hurt me!" screamed Lakota.
" What makes you think we would do something like that?" Brad asked as he put his hands in his pocket.
" We love our niece, and would do anything to keep her happy" said David.
" We've been with this child since she was born" said Mike.
The case worker was speechless. Ricky walked up to the lady and then stood merely an inch from her.
" You won't be needing to talk to our baby girl again" he said, then grabbed her shoulder and escorted her out. And she never saw or heard from the woman again. The men have a way of making people disappear, retired or not.Lakota stood at the door with brown sacks full of the men's lunch. As they went out the door the grabbed the brown bags and kissed her on the forehead.
" Bye Kota"
" Bye Booger"
"Bye KoKo"
" Bye Sweetpea"
" Bye Lala"
Finally her dad " Bye honey, I love you. Call me if you need me"Lakota had the whole house to herself and it was time to do her daily routine. She cleaned the house, which was never much because the men were considerate enough to clean up after themselves. She had their washed, dried, folded and put their clothes up. Then she pulled out the guitar that Jamie bought and Mike taught her how to play. Next was her favorite part: exercise and training.
Lakota got on her exercise clothes and her fighting gloves then went to the weight room. Today her workout of choice was the punching bag. She put all of her strength in every punch and kick. The last punch sent the punching bag flying off the chain, and she smirked as it hit the floor.
" I broke the punching bag" Lakota texted to her dad.
" Again Lakota? Lol okay I'll get another one" he replied. It was eight o'clock and Lakota already had supper on the table. One of their favorite meals: steak with mashed potatoes and green beans.
Just as she laid down the last plate, the men came in.
" Is that steak I smell?" asked David.
"And mashed potatoes?" Jamie asked excitedly.
" And green beans?" asked Brad, even more excited.
After making sure they had everything they wanted, Lakota sat down in her designated spot: between Ricky and Jeremy.
" So who is going first tonight at the Brawl?" asked Jeremy.
" Mike and I, we have a score to settle" replied Lakota while shooting Mike a wink.
" Maybe you'll make it alive this time" said Jamie, patting Mike on the back.
