After supper they made their way to the weight room where there was a mat with tarp over it. Jeremy got tired of cleaning up blood.
Lakota and Mike put on their gloves and got on the mat.
" Don't underestimate her size" shouted Brad.
" Show him who's boss baby girl" shouted Jeremy.
Lakota and Mike had their hands up and began to circle.
" Come on Pretty Boy" said Lakota with a smirk. Right then he socked her right in the cheek. It didn't even stun her.
" Let's rock" said Lakota.
She throw a right hook, left uppercut, and knee to the stomach. Her and Jeremy's signature combo, and he didn't even teach it to her.
"Oh!" all the uncles said together.
" Like daughter like father" Ricky said to Jeremy. All he could was smile.Mike threw hook and missed. Lakota grabbed the swung arm, inverted it, elbowed him in the rib then threw him over her shoulder. He hit the mat with a thud. Mike jumped right back up, ready to go. He right hooked Lakota, then kicked her feet out from her. She took this opportunity to bring him down to her level. She kicked him at the back of his knees and he came tumbling down. He fell on his hands and knees. Lakota jumped on his back, wrapped her legs around his stomach and arms around his neck, then trusted backwards. This brought Mike in a classic head lock.
Mike fought to break her grip but it was no use, he was beginning to turn blue.
" Tap, tap, tap" said all the uncles.
But Mike wasn't and he never did. His face got bluer and bluer and Lakota held her grip until she felt Mike go limb. Lakota got up and checked to make sure he continued breathing.
" Whose next?" asked Lakota with her hands on her hips." Why don't you get your guitar out and sing us a song" said Jeremy with a smile. Lakota got out her guitar and plugged it into the amp and began to play one of their favorite songs: Free Bird.
As she was playing the song she looked at her father and he was looking at her. He was smiling just like he did every time she played her guitar and sang. He was so proud of the woman she was becoming, it was bittersweet because he knew she wouldn't stay there forever. He spent Lakota's entire life worried about her well-being, when all the while it was obvious she could take care of herself. With everything Jeremy and her uncles taught her she could become anything she wanted to, and he knew one day she would leave to pursue her dreams... what ever those dreams may be.
After Lakota was done playing her song, everyone decided they wanted to have a few drinks. Jeremy let Lakota drink because she was an adult now and he trusted her.
" You guys really need girlfriends" Lakota commented while opening a beer and taking a sip.
"Oh noo we don't" said the uncles
" What? Why not? I'm seriously the only girl you guys ever see. Do you guys ever get tired of seeing each other everyday?" she asked.
"For one, your estrogen is enough. For two, yes we do get tired of looking at each other, that's why we came up with the Friday Brawl. We pissed each other off through out the week, then beat the shit out each other for it. Besides, when was the last time you had a boyfriend?" Ricky asked her. Jeremy gave Ricky a stern look, because of what happened the last time Lakota had a boyfriend.
" What the literal fuck!" screamed Lakota as she walked into the door. Her boyfriend of only a few months cheated on her and she was livid.
" What's wrong honey" asked Jeremy. He watched her pace around the room with her fists balled up when he noticed her hand was bloody and scrapped up. " What the hell did you punch this time Lakota?"
If you haven't noticed already Lakota was a lot like her father and her temper was one thing Jeremy wished she hadn't picked up.
" Oh, what did I punch? Um, Carlos about 10 times" she replied looking at her hand.
