This is Saga 1-The Lovable Boy
~~~
Phil couldn't believe it! His day had been going perfectly. He had aced his AP Calculus test and finished all his homework for the next three days in AP Biology.
How could he be moving!?
"Trust me, honey. It's a great place. And I hear the schools are just as good as here," his mom had told him.
Phil was laying in bed, staring at the cieling. He was mad that he was wasting time, but it's not like he had anything to read or any exam to study for. Besides, if he did, it didn't matter cause he was leaving. Forever.
How could his mom do this to him? His life was perfect! He was already getting scholarships to the local university. He had great buds, PJ and Chris, who were just as focused as him on their futures. What was he going to do?
After hours of being on the road, they finally arrived to 5476 Ocean Avenue. The beige house was bigger than their previous one, but they didn't need a big house. Martyn didn't live with them anymore, so what did they need an extra room for?
As they unloaded the truck, a man approached them with his wife and child. "Hello! I'm your new neighbor. This is my wife and my son, Daniel. We would like to invite you for dinner, once you get situated of course. Maybe, two days from now?" the man said.
"That would be lovely," Ms. Lester said. She pointed at Phil and said, "This is my son, Phil." Phil waved and went back to unloading.
"He's still getting adjusted," Ms. Lester explained.
"It is completely understandable!" Mr. Howell told her. "We'll see you later! If you need any help, we're the red house to your left!"
With that, the family went back into their house. Phil despised them. They acted as if this was nothing. As if leaving everything you've ever known was no big deal. They probably never even moved!
Phil took one of his boxes into his house and climbed up the stairs to the second story. He chose the smaller room to the end of the hall, knowing his mom would want the Master Bedroom.
The room had two windows interrupting the green walls. Who paints their walls green? Phil sighed and swt the box down. He went to the window next to the closet and looked out. It was a nice neighborhood. There wasn't any litter. An old couple walked down the street with a little girl on a tricycle. Probably thier grandaughter.
He looked out the other window and saw the red house of his friendly neighbors. Phil grunted in disgust and headed back to the truck to get more boxes.
"Phil, honey, I know you don't like it that you're here, but if you give this place a chance, I promise it'll grow on you," Ms. Lester told her son as she passed him entering the house.
Phil grunted in response and picked up another box. He placed it on the counter in the kitchen. Since it was Saturday, Phil had about a day and a half to unpack and be ready for school on Monday. School without PJ and Chris. School without AP classes, as his mother found out that the school couldn't afford AP Exams.
There goes that scholarship to Uni...
Phil decided to quit on unloading and explore the house. The kicthen was so big that a mini dining room fit in it. Inbetween the actual dining room and the kitchen were another set of stairs. In the same space as the dining room was a lounge. If you came in through the main entrance, a small hallway to a bathroom, office, and laundry room were to your left. A door at the end of the laundry room lead to the garage that fit two cars. If you went right instead of left, there were the main stairs. If you went straight, the living room was there with giant sliding doors to a small backyard.
At the top of the stairs, you were face-to-face with another bathroom. To the left was Phil's room. To the right was his mothers room. If you continued down the hallway, there was a small lounge. As you passed it, you went into the game room, on the right, or the home theatre, on the left. Phil looked down and saw the living room. He went to the other side and saw the entrance. Sighing, he went to his room and began unpackig his clothes.
After four hours of "situating," they decided to eat. His mom made Ramen, since they were both too tired to actually cook.
"Phil, maybe tomorrow you could actually took to that boy next door. Who knows, maybe he'll grow on you!"
Phil continued to slurp his noodles as if his mom had said nothing. She sighed. "Honey, this isn't like you. Where's the Phil I know that can deal with anything? Hmm?"
"Mom, quit acting like this move is nothing. I...I never told you this but Lensli University gave me a scholarship..."
Ms. Lester gasped. "Wha-? Honey, that's great!"
"Yeah. But with no more AP classes to take, they'll think I gave up on school and will give the money to someone else," Phil told her.
"Phil, they wouldn't do that," Ms. Lester told her son. Phil shrugged. He threw away what was rest of his dinner and began heading upstairs.
"Phil, promise me one thing."
"Hmm?"
"Promise me you'll talk to Dan before you start school."
Phil said nothing as he continued up the steps to his room and closed the door. He threw himself onto his bed and fell asleep.
