Well shit.

"Shit!" I yell. "Shit shit shit!"

I hadn't even thought about bringing pads.

Although, I suppose when you're in the middle of a real-life episode of The Walking Dead, periods aren't really the first thing you think about.

"These were my favorite jeans!" I shout at a tree. Not just any tree; Dave the tree. I named him myself.

When everyone you know is either dead or a zombie, you get kinda lonely.

"What am I supposed to do?! I can't just walk around with a giant blood stain on my pants! That's so embarrassing!" I have to remind myself that, really, I'm probably never going to see another live human being again, but still. It's hard to not think the way I used to.

I reach into the small bag that holds all of my belongings and pull out a roll of toilet paper. "This'll have to do for now."

I change into a pair of leggings and go to the nearby stream in an attempt to wash my jeans. It works, kinda, but the jeans are black, so you can't really see the stain anyway.

I set them on a rock to dry while I pack up the rest of my belongings. I need to look for shelter, and some food. And, although it's unlikely, some cell service.

Yes, I brought my phone. What if the power turns back on? What if I'm dying of boredom and need nothing more than to play a game of Crossy Road? You never know.

I head north, toward the road. It's a risk, but it's one I'm willing to take.

I could kill for a burger right now; maybe if I'm lucky I'll find a McDonald's with food still inside. At this point, I'd even settle for some Burger King.

The road is deserted, for the most part. There are some cars, most of which will have been looted and stripped of all valuables. Still, I look inside a few. Who knows? One of these days, I might actually find something useful.

I am lucky and manage to find some ammo. I stop to put them in my bag and then continue on.

After I've been walking for about a half and hour, I hear something in the distance.

"Music?" I say to myself, heading in the direction of the mysterious sound. While I'm walking, I begin to realize how much I've missed music. Suddenly, I want to listen to Panic! At The Disco more than I want a burger.

The sound seems to originate from a tall, nondescript brick building. It seems to be the only building for miles, however, that doesn't have it's windows shattered.

Weird.

I go to open one of the glass doors, expecting it to be locked, but it opens easily. I find myself walking into what was probably once a pristine white waiting room. Currently, blood stains the walls, giving the room an eerie aura. My brain is telling me, "DANGER. TURN BACK. DO NOT ADVANCE," but I find my feet carrying me farther into the building.

As I get closer to the blood, I find that a majority of it is dried, but there are a few spots here and there that are still wet. This definitely sets off an alarm, but my curiosity gets the better of me.

I turn a rusted, blood covered handle to a door the same color as everything else in the room. I open the door to find a dismembered human body on the floor.

"Lovely," I think to myself.

And then, as if I was in a horror movie, the music stops playing.
