Chapter One:
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have your own fairytale, one where you find your prince or princess and live happily ever after? But this isn't a fairytale it's reality, where not all your dreams come true. Where we all make mistakes and have bad days.
My name is Charlie, Charlie Sahyounie I've just turned eighteen and in my last year in high school, I guess you could call me an outcast because I don't hang out with the 'popular' girls and boys. I would rather read my book in a secluded area where nobody knows about, that I found on my first day of freshmen year.
I sit down by the door, holding my ham and lettuce sandwich in my left hand and holding my phone in my right hand reading a book called 'The fab life' by Amare Mercy.
Just as I finish my sandwich I hear the faint sound of the bell, signalising lunch was now over and that I had two more lessons left until the weekend began.
I throw my rubbish away into the trash can and make my way to my AP Maths class; I sit at the back next to the window before getting out my pencil case taking out my pen and pencil. About five minutes pass and the tardy bell goes and the teacher, Mrs Young comes into the class closing the door behind her.
"Good afternoon class, today we will be talking a test-" she gets groans as a response from most of the class including me before she continued. "-If you let me finish I will give you the other option, the other option is that we can do the test on Monday lesson and for today's lesson you can revise or you can quietly talk to the person next to you, if it gets too loud the test will be a more difficult for you all" there were small cheers so she took it as the second opinion and sat down at her desk turning to her computer and began typing.
I pulled out my phone and began to read my book once again, time passing by.
As soon as the bell goes off everyone quickly goes out of the room and into the hall ways going to the last class of the week.
I walked into AP world history sitting in my normal set in the middle row to the side of the window, waiting for class to begin. After school finished I made my way to my small job at the diner out of town, which most teenagers come to on the weekends.
Rosie my colleague and manager is my best friend, but she is in her twenties. "Charlie! Be quick I need you to take peoples orders in front!" I heard the voice of Rosie shout. I quickly took my small jacket off leaving me in my strapless flowery crop top that's tucked into my high waist ripped shorts and my white converse on my feet, I tied my apron around my hips putting a pen and note pad in the pocket in front.
I ran the front of the diner and behind the counter to take the orders, I took all their orders. When Rosie came from where she was she started to make everyone's orders of milkshakes, fries and burgers.
Soon the large wave of customers came through the doors in large groups, taking up all the booths by the window. I tell Rosie that I'm going to take their orders and I would be back in a few moments. I walked around the counter and towards the first group that came in and sat down. "Good afternoon, my name is Charlie and I'll be your waiter for today. What can I get you?" I said looking around to face a group of four boys from school, in my year that is well known. "Can I have a vanilla milkshake and fries and burger, please?" the blonde one said reading from the menu. After I wrote it down I looked to the boy next to him with dark brown hair. "I will have a steak, medium done and a coffee" I nodded writing it all down and facing the other two on the other side of the booth. "Could I have a pepperoni pizza and a coke" I looked at the last boy seeing he was looking at me. "I will just have your phone number please" he said putting down his menu looking up at me smirking. "Well if that's it I will bring all of your orders except yours" I said pointing to the boy closest to me. "Could I have a burger and fries and a coke?" I nodded wringing it down before telling them it will take about twenty minutes until its ready and walking off back to Rosie giving her the boys order and walking to the other table to take theirs.
The rest of my shift was just me walking back and forward to tables taking everyone's orders and giving them to Rosie. But my sift soon came to an end when the end of the busy part of the day came to an end, I hung up my apron and slipped on my jacket before saying my farewells to Rosie and heading home to have my dinner with my parents, if they were home that is.
Stepping in through the front door of my home I walked into the kitchen where my mother was standing in her apron with flower all over her hands and some on her face. My mum is always baking, from main meals to deserts, she can cook anything and it always tastes amazing. "Hello dear, I'm making muffins would you like to try the batter?" I nodded my head, a large grin appearing on my face, she gave me a small spoon to get my own small taste but as soon as I did she took the bowl away from me so I couldn't take any more, she knows me too well. "And before I forget we will be having guests staying here until you graduate" she explained putting the batter into muffin wrappers and putting them into the oven to cook and to rise. "They will be coming soon, so you need to help your dad to make the spare bedroom liveable" I nodded turning round and walking up the stairs going up two at a time, and making my way to my bedroom to put my bag in and then going into the spare room that was next to mine.
The room was a dark blue colour when I started to move things and tidy the place out. There was even a king sized bed in one of the corners of the room, that was already made but dusty because of the items that was covering it before. When I finished picking up rubbish and putting things into its rightful place the bedroom was mostly tidy except for the few things that needed hovering up. I changed the bed covers making it tidier and plugged the hover in, picking up the dust and dirt that was left on the wooden floor. After finishing hovering up I put it away and stood back placing my hand on my hips admiring my work. "Well done sweetie" I turn round to see my dad looking at me from the open door with a smile on his face. "it's nice to see Daniel's room tidy again, with him not being here anymore" Daniel is my older brother who went to college after leaving school and getting into the college he had been dreaming about since he first played football when he was six years old and I was five years old.
"Yeah it is, I wish he would come and see us again, I do miss him a lot" my dad nodded
"Oh and dinner is ready, come down when you are finished" I nodded turning back around and looking at the now clean bedroom. The only thing I needed to do was tidy out some of wardrobe and draws for our guests. But I will do that another day.
