(Chapter 11: The Ability to See the Past)

"Holy shit, balls, and cock," I breathed out as I gaped out the side window of the car.

At the end of the school day, Cynric had met me at my locker. He lead me to a black Rolls Royce that was idling outside the school. I flinched back thinking of the amounts of money that was more than likely spent on the vehicle. Cynric had opened the back door for me, and I gave him a confused look. I didn't understand why we didn't just get in the front. Then I realized there was a man with a chauffeur cap sat in the driver's seat. Now this is the definition of pretentious rich kid.

Now here I was, shell shocked on how large Cynric's "house" was. It was a large, four story, dark brick mansion. Chimneys dotted the black, shingled roof. Windows jutted out, following along with the curves and angles of the building. The chauffeur, Gregor, glanced back at me. I could practically feel the waves of disliking rolling off him, but he would not outwardly express that with Cynric there.

We pulled up to the front of the building. Gregor killed the car before stepping out, walking over to my side, and opened the door. I slid out of the car, Cynric following behind me. Cynric rested his hand in the small of my back as he guided me to the front door. I readjusted my backpack, stiffening with where Cynric's hand laid.

At the main entrance, we were greeted with a man in a dark gray tailcoat. He had immaculately gelled white hair. He opened the large ornate doors for us, bowing. Cynric stopped in front of him, clapping a hand onto his shoulder.

"Good afternoon, Master Nanik."

"Good afternoon to you too, Kian. Where might we find Carpenter Calum?" he asked, pushing me slightly forward, over the threshold.

"Calum will more than likely be found out in the barn. There was a part of a stable that had broken."

"Thank you, Kian." I let a strap of my backpack slip down off my shoulder before looking around awkwardly. Kian closed the door, taking my bag from my shoulders as he went by.

"U-uh oh. O-okay. Thanks?" I stammered out after him. Cynric chortled behind my before he grabbed my wrist and started leading me through the house. "Where are we going, Cynric?"

"There is a back door that leads to the stables," he explained. I nodded my head even though I realized he couldn't see it.

Opening the large french doors, my eyes scraped across the perfectly manicured back yard. Off in the distance, was a gorgeous mahogany colored barn with white trimming. It appeared to have two stories to it, but I wasn't sure. I gaped up at the  beauty as its size double as we approached it. There was a large sliding door, but next to it was a solid wood door with a small window situated at the top of it. In scrawly letters below the window were the words "Nanik Stables". Original. I mused to myself.

The door swung open with a soft swoosh. The inside looked even more amazing than the outside, and I couldn't help it when my jaw all but dropped to the floor. These stalls were all nicer looking than my room! Each stall was built with the same mahogany wood as the barn itself. The gates were a black, wrought iron metal. The metal also swooped upwards from the gate, meeting large support beams that went up into an intricate networking of wooden beams.

"Afternoon, Master Cynric," a man greeted, wiping his hands on a rag as he approached us. He appeared to be in his mid 30's. His black hair bounced as he approached us.

"Calum," Cynric returned back, nodding his head in acknowledgment.  Calum looked over at me, nodding his head in greeting. I gave him a small smile before nodding back.
